For an extra 3 years and 40k kms I just bought extended warranty from my dealer.
With the mileage I currently have and what I put on Ill be good till Oct/27.....I'm putting on less than 20k kms a year.
This will probably not work for alot of people.
Price was actually higher thru emails than...
Pricing everywhere is a bit crazy.
Since theres no Ranger equivalent to the ZR2 I built a Lariat and a Z71 as close as possible.
They are literally 1k apart.....the way I built them, and in Canada.
With the Chevy being more.
While I like the ZR2 it is an extra 6k compared to either of these...
Ive got my 21 Supercab loaded exactly how I want it....plan on keeping it for a long time as long as its good to me.
It's pretty shitty that Ford is taking that option away from me/us tho.
Supercabs in general around here are not loaded up.....and needles in a haystack too.
Why I've just ordered...
When I try to build a 24 XLT Supercab there is no option other than a 301A.
I've tried the Canadian and US sites.
Supercrew you have higher trims.
That pretty much sucks,,,,,
Yup I'm in the Supercab club....tho I went a loaded XLT route.
Ordered exactly what i wanted.
Right now it doesnt appear I can even build anything better than a 301a package in a Supercab.
Supercrew you can....I have zero interest in a 5.5ft box, and a supercrew with a 6.5ft box is too long for...
After 1 year of a catch can Ive accumulated about 125ml (5oz) of goo.
Is it worth it who knows.....this is supposed to be a long term truck so anything is better than nothing.
I have 1st hand experience with this.
To the shop 3 times in under 35k kms with my 2015 Silverado 6.2L/8 speed with lifter /pushrod issues.
The 8 speed was horrible, had a highway vibe....and shitty paint.
Yeah I probably got a lemon.
i really like the 6.2L but couldnt trust it to leave town just...
I can say without doubt the siping has made a very good improvement on slippery terrain.....wet pavement and ice.
I'm very happy with the result and how easy it is.
Just by driving a bit today I can feel the tires being a bit softer.
Without doubt traction will be better....wet traction was very bad too.
New set of tires is close to 2k here,
I thought about that one but since I already had the tool and lots of blades I didn't bother.
Out n about today and...
3rd winter on the Duratracs.
What little snow we've gotten in SE Alberta has made me realize the tires are a bit sketchy now.
Have had a tire groove for years,I groove dirt bike tires all the time.
Realized flipping the blade...it's a siper now.
Less than 2hrs....we will see how it helps,tires...
My 17 F150 had 18" rims on stock size Duratracs.
My 21 has the 20" with stock size Duratracs.
The amount of sidewall on 20" is less(about 1/2") and I noticed ride difference....less flexing going on I guess.
The 20s are shit in mud(inner rim collects alot) but I just didn't like the look of 18s...
I've run Duratracs on last 3 trucks.
Stock size tho as I dislike the ride of E rated tires.
Alberta winters....I hunt n fish,do more gravel than most.
Snow.....awesome.
Ive buried my truck multiple times in the last few years and have been impressed with how well the Duratracs can do(don't air...
How is the ride tho?
What pressure you running?
This is exact tire and size I am looking at.
Going from the standard size 275/60/20s Duratacs......which are not an E tire.
Living in Alberta,I hunt, get alot of snowy conditions and run my at tires year round.
So fairly aggressive, snow flake rated...
I haven't been brand loyal for most of my life.
Ford....then Chevy....then Ford.....Chevy
Till 2015
Came across a double cab 6.2L max tow LTZ Chev on a local lot.
Rare would be an understatement seeing this on a lot new.
Seemed like fate so I traded in my 2011 Ecoboost.
Between failed lifters n...
Ive run E rated tires in the past.
Mpg usually suffers(they are heavier)
And ride quality suffers....especially if running 20s.
I dont run them anymore....P rated or at best a D tire.
I do run aggressive treads(Last few sets have been Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs),do a fair bit of gravel and off...
Ive been using Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs for years for southern Alberta.
Ive run BFGs.....good traction but gravel beat them up fast.
Had Toyo Open Countries....wasnt impressed.
Duratracs are a bit noisy.....dont bother me.
Aggressive looking and snow rated.
I run them year round.....pretty...
