So this is interesting. The little symbol on the dash was not lit up so I thought it wasn't engaged. And even more weird it took me about 5 presses on the center knob, moving forward each time before the lock finally disengaged. (the symbol would light up and disappear like everything was...
Help! I have a 2021 lariat with the Ecoboot engine and max tow package. I hauled a load of junk to the dump the other day. It was just random stuff and not overly heavy, but the bed was completely full. I noticed the next morning that if I were stopped and then started moving forward (even...
I came from a RAM pickup with the large 12" screen. And even though it was integrated with the dash, I much prefer the horizontally oriented 12" screen on the Ford. Easier to clean behind when you want to wipe down the dash. And from a cognitive perspective, it seems easier to scan things in...
I came from an '09 RAM 1500. The phone holder in the RAM was excellent and was also a wireless charger. Ford is still playing catchup in some areas for sure.
Speaking of WDH, does anyone have a definitive answer to the question "Should I disable the anti-sway feature on the F150 if I'm using a WDH?" Lots of opinions all over the place. I have yet to see anything definitive from Ford itself.
Thoughts?
2018 is right when REV Group purchased the company. So I'm wondering if the quality of the one I am purchasing (2021) will be appreciably different that yours. My sister lives in Fullerton, CA, like you so maybe I'll have to tow mine down there once I get it, buy you a beer, and do a comparison.
Yeah, I think I was being way overly conservative. A poster in the Lance Owners Association forums mentioned that not all the weight I am adding will be bearing down on the tongue. Some of it will be shared with the axel. The more I read about this, the more I feel comfortable.
But, I'm...
Mine is the 4x4 5.5 box so the payload spec was 2,100. With all my added options (moonroof, spray-in liner, FX4 package, power tailgate, running boards, 20" wheels) my payload went down to 1,584 on the door
Total noob move on my part not knowing how much all these options would impact...
You're running the 1995 on your F-150? I didn't like the bathroom layout of the 1995, but the tongue weight spec on that is a full 160lbs less (550 - 390). I may have to get over my dislike of the bathroom and go with the 1995. Hmmmmm.
And I have to ask the proverbial, and completely...
Thanks for the doc. Pretty informative but missing a lot of information for the options I purchased. But I'm assuming that my door sticker has accounted for those, so I'm starting with 1584lb payload capacity.
The trailer I'm thinking about is a Lance 1985. Specs (on paper) are:
GVWR: 6,200...
My understanding is that Payload capacity is reduced by tongue weight, is that not the case? If so, then isn't the image in the lower-right incorrect?
And if so, if I move some payload to the rear of the trailer, or to be sitting directly over the trailer axles, then I would be reducing tongue...
I did that. But I was basing my decision on the advertised payload capacity in the Ford docs (because I didn't have the knowledge at the time about how much options might impact the capacity and that is something Ford does not break down into detail). I even gave myself a buffer of about...
First time poster / new user here.
When researching my new 2021 F-150, I looked up the payload capacity on the Ford website for my rig (Lariat, 4x4, SuperCrew, 3.5L Eco-boost V6). The Ford website says max payload is 2,100lbs. But my door sticker says 1,584lbs. Being a newbie to all this...
