Pretty sure I’m still stuck on 3.7.4 or whatever the hell version comes after the actual CarPlay updates. Haven’t gotten an update in months.
Piss poor feature and bringing it up at the dealer is pretty much always pointless.
Edit: Nvm, I’m actually on 4.2.1. But point still stands. I’ll...
So I got it fixed. Turns out it was the old adapter that went bad. And there was a pin on the new one that was misaligned and the plug wasn’t seated correctly as a result. All working as it should now. Thanks for the help!
Kind of a false alarm. The auto dimming function IS working as it should. I didn’t have a bright enough light to get it to trigger properly. Thinking that it’s the camera that has gone bad. Going to test shortly.
I confirmed that the mirror isn’t dimming like it should. Kind of weird because the other functions that are on fuse 36 are all still working. Is it possible to have an issue with just one component like that in the case of a bad fuse?
So I’ve been running a Dongar Tech adapter for a dash cam in my truck for awhile.
One day my camera failed to start up when I started the truck up. The camera still works on USB power on other ports in the truck but it won’t run when connected up to the mirror with the adapter.
Ordered a new...
The front ends and taillights just aren’t doing it for me. Maybe it’ll be different once I see them for real but right now the visual appeal of this refresh is just meh.
How is the area in question supposed to look? I have a Job 1 2021 truck, built end of February/early March. There’s a bracket attached to the cable on my truck that makes the cable very difficult to move. Is this how it’s supposed to be? Or what?
I’m sure not. But I’m aware of what it entails, and at this point my F150 still functions as a truck otherwise so I’d prefer not to brick it. It’ll end up sold off down the road anyway.
At the time I took delivery of my F150, Super Duty wasn’t in my head at all. Light duty hauling was all I...
I wish the method described in this thread actually worked. At this point I’ve run completely out of copium. All of the people at the dealerships are clueless and I’m closer to buying a new F350 than I am ever trying to do a home brew update with Forscan or whatever.
rugedraw, are you still checking VINs in this thread? Curious to see what mine says now. I took my truck in with a complaint about Sync a little over a month ago now. Of course they didn’t find anything. Or do anything really. But after I took it in, the updates apparently went from 2.7.4 to...
My truck is also stuck on 2.7.3. It was actually stuck on 2.7.4 but then there was an “update” where it reverted versions. No clue why. I get the same BS story every time I bring it in with Sync related complaints.
No confidence that I’ll ever get it fixed. I’m closer to upgrading to a new...
What’s the process for updating the truck yourself? Can you point me in the direction of a guide for updating on your own? I do know from your previous post that it requires a specific tool for doing the updates.
Does my VIN lookup show anything different than before?
