Why should you have to brace anything for normal use? Ford made bad front differentials and unreliable trucks. This cost me and a lot of others a lot of money. They are relying on blind brand loyalty. Run away and take your licking, it will save you money in the long run.

I checked out the mileage in/mileage out on the service order, they put 35 miles on my truck. I guess they must have had the radio too loud when they were running errands. I heard the grinding after driving across the parking lot.

Can you check my VIN and see if you can help me?

Good luck. You are in for a painstaking future. I have had two front differentials replaced and my truck still remains at the dealership with front differential problems. My F150 has less than 25K on it.

The nightmare never ends. Now they are going to replace some carrier bearings that were growling. Another three days after having the truck for two weeks. I'm starting to get sores from being on the bench at the Ford dealership.

If the original differential housings are made of peanut brittle and the replacement housings are made of peanut brittle, what are you supposed to do?

How many miles on it?

That would be (2) casting flaws, as they have replaced the differential housing and the new one is leaking badly. Maybe three is the charm?

Completely stock. 95% of miles in 2WD (highway). I use 4WD on snowy roads. Pretty much use it like a car. Very disappointing.

They must have got my replacement from the "old" casting bin since it only made it 7000 miles before cracking again. I hope the next one will make it longer than two oil changes. They should give you a free hat and a bag of floor dry with each purchase....

I had the same problem at 17k miles. Replaced on warranty but just found out the new one has the same problem at 24k. Dealership ordered new parts and will repair when they fix the three outstanding recalls…..
