As a retired firefighter, I have put out lots of vehicular fires and it does not matter how quickly you get to the fire, it normally is better to let it burn and get a new truck instead of having to fix many things such as wire harnesses. Leaving ghosts in the system for life.
Back in the 80’s in Louisiana, a handful of ford police cars were catching fire. The end result was that at the factory they over filled the tranny fluid. When it got hot it sprayed on the exhaust and caused the engine fire. Not related to new trucks like ours.
I bought the f150 that they had on the lot for what I could afford. Always wanted a blackout look. the one in my price range was a F150 XLT/302A package & chrome. My stepson is a professional paint/ body man. Need to start him on the blackout. GREAT JOB.
