That's great news, Tommy. I appreciate you running it down. Longer than we wanted but glad to know Ford acknowledged it. My sensor got dunked at the boat ramp this spring and I haven't had a chance to get it fixed. The dealers here don't seem to know anything about the "PTBA".

Welp -- ended up at a boat ramp that I had to submerge the sensor -- game over. At this point I would say that Ford's Back Up Assist technology does not apply to boat trailers.

My stickers were in the manual pocket sleeve. But as noted they don’t work yet anyway

I don't believe there is a control relationship between the sensor and camera. You should be fine -- you'll know for sure when you go to calibrate it. Good luck!

Actually, I did a test run without the boat at my local ramp to see if the sensor would get wet. At this particular ramp thought I didn’t take note of the tide, the sensor stayed dry. So, for now it’s good. Taking the bait down to the Keys in 2 weeks so will see how the sensor does at that ramp.

I had the recall update done at the dealership this week. The recall does not address the sticker issue. Service manager didn’t know about the sticker issue and didn’t have any knowledge of the next over the air update. As for the recall update, apparently it enables an alarm function you can...

We all have the sticker issue. Ford needs to send an over the air software update. You should have got the sensor however. I’d go back to the dealer and get it.

Hey Bob -- I posted this to the other Backup Assist thread yesterday. Sensor with wire harness works great on my boat trailer. Not crazy about the extended cord length. And not sure if my placement of the sensor will survive the first boat launch at the ramp. May be a one-time use only :)

You have to have the sensor plugged in / connected for the system to activate. That said, even If you don't have the sensor connected, the back up camera still works great and has a wide angle view when using the trailer mode. It helps you see areas that your mirrors cant. I did not have this...

It looks like it will be protected from rain and splashes. But if you look at the right side of the sensor it’s pretty wide open and the connector doesn’t appear to be IP67. I’m not confident submerging it.

Good news on the Sensor front. After watching the video I went out and connected the sensor to my 27' EZ Loader boat trailer. Confirmed that the sensor with wire harness does in fact work with a conventional trailer. Once I connected everything up I went through the calibration process. You...

That's awesome! My truck seems to be a bit "buggy" from a software perspective overall. Working in a software environment gives me some patience. I'm hoping they will fix the bugs with over the air updates.

Nice! Thanks for the update. On the other BackUp Assist thread here, the group believes the wire harness with the sensor attachment works with conventional trailers. I'm going to give that a whirl next weekend and see if it works. WIll let you know.
