  1. Tow Hooks for 2 Wheel Drive?

I’m watching this- I have a 2WD 2023 PB. I asked a dealer and the computer said tow hooks are not available for 2 WD. I’m guessing that the computer emulates the build guidelines. To my knowledge, the bumper knockouts and attachments are present (but I am no expert). My friend with a 2WD...
  2. Where the Ford LOGO came from...

Henry Ford built the Ford buildings at Berry College (my Alma mater). Now a Ford family treasure which provides upkeep. Google for images. Ranked as one of the most beautiful campuses in USA. Also, largest at 30,000 acres.
  3. Need help

Lot’s of options from smart folks. I drive my last 0.5-1 mile home in tow/haul mode. Truck hybrid battery SOC consistently around 67% (higher than sitting in idle until the battery charges to around 63%). My biggest problem is remembering to switch drive mode. BTW, mine always starts in normal mode.
  4. Parking Brake- Automatic

I believe that if you have ‘Hold’ activated, Park automatically engages brake; releases when gas is applied. I am not a fan of ‘Hold’.
  5. Payload comparison

Agree. A 27' Airstream has a max capacity of 7600#. 1100# would be 7333# with a 15% tongue weight. So weight distribution and load have an impact, but frequently AS owners comment about over 1100# tongue weights. I think around 1000# is doable but requires planning. Points- Too many people look...
  6. Payload comparison

I’m with Aron, I ordered a 2023 4x2 KR with minimal options for towing a travel trailer. Sticker payload 1781#. I drove straight to the scales and measured 1850#, so 1800#+/-. I did a lot of research and 4x4 at around 290# is the biggest payload reducer. You will find many discussions saying...
  7. Found in Driveway, DEAD!

I, too, have had an episode of not starting- 'Full Accessory Mode'. O'Reilly battery test OK; 2 days later dealer found the battery charge too low to test after 20-30min of highway driving. The dealer replaced the battery under warranty (2mo old). I am pretty good about 2 step start up, but I...
  8. What did you do WITH your F-150 today?

I learned to drive with a manual transmission in the north Georgia mountains. My Louisiana wife does NOT like my mountain driving. I really miss my mountains. It looks like both of my sons will end up in Oklahoma- very nice, but not much in the way of mountains.
  9. anyone regretting getting the powerboost?

I agree unless they are still learning (I don't want to be their first update). Supposedly, there were no codes that popped up. I still use 2 step start or remote start 99% of the time.
  10. anyone regretting getting the powerboost?

I am using a rural Louisiana dealer, closer than East Texas purchase dealer. They say they have trained technicians, but are definitely on the front of the learning curve. Replaced a defective battery for Full Accessory lock, so far so good. Oil change and tire rotation. I did not ask for SSN...
  11. HELP: "Stop Safely Now" message?

I had a “Full Accessory” failure in Feb (2mo old); bad battery replaced. I use remote start (App/Fob) frequently or 2 step start most of the time; also try to leave battery charged, especially at night. So far so good. I do worry about valet parking overnight. Took truck for oil...
  12. OBDLink PowerBoost 2023 PID's Now Available

I appreciate the information all of you provide- but get some sleep.😉 For now, I am not touching my setup.
  13. 23’ Powerboost stuck in “Full accessory power”

Sorry, too many threads to review (and I have tried to read them all) What is the “sport mode trick”? Thanks
  14. HELP: "Stop Safely Now" message?

Thanks I think you get credit for developing the "PowerBoost 2 Step". I am still wondering if the Clearing "OK" is vital? What is the mechanism for this working? (I think I have seen some suggestions in the hundreds of post on the subject, but do not recall why it works)
  15. HELP: "Stop Safely Now" message?

Question for all of the knowledgeable folks- Press ‘Start’ with foot OFF brake Pause WITHOUT clearing ’OK’ Press ‘Start’ with foot ON brake The truck will start, but is clearing ‘OK’ a necessary step to assure a start without freezing in “Full Accessory mode” or “Stop Safely Now”? If starting...
  16. How To Ruin A Truck

Just a data point. My review last year found a minimally optioned Lariat-mid 4x4 at 1569#. 1400# +/- was more common. I was not looking at XLT, so some weight savings.
  17. How To Ruin A Truck

dafish, FWIW, I know people that tow a lot and truck salespeople that don’t know what that yellow sticker is. I have been ignorant! I had Sequoias around 2000, before the jump in size. Towed around 6400# boat/trailer plus extra junk in boat- multiple anchors, floor Jack, extra spare, and...
  18. PowerBoost Payload - What Am I Missing?

If you are looking at 2024, forget KR and above. Moon roof, power running boards, bed utility, 14 speaker stereo and 4x4 are all standard plus power pedals, office, power tilt steering wheel, etc. 1430# unlikely! My 2WD 2023 standard KR is around 1800# (sticker 1787#, scale 1850#). HammaMan has...
  19. Powerboost wouldn’t start today

Powering a travel trailer or work equipment are excellent reasons to get a PowerBoost! If the generator is not important to you, probably not the correct tool. I believe the MPG is some improved, but not doubled or anything major (I do like eating lunch idling with air conditioning in Louisiana...
