  1. What are you doing with your Powerboost over the 4th?

Beach camping. First trip with the 21’ trailer just 30 miles away. Doing a local trip prior to the Sierra trip in a few weeks. 6500lb GVWR trailer pulled great around the neighborhood. Let’s see what she does at freeway speeds and with traffic. Happy and Safe 4th to everyone!
  2. Glacier National Park Trip Summary - 22 Powerboost

Great, thanks for the research. I’ll check them out at HD
  3. Glacier National Park Trip Summary - 22 Powerboost

I bought the Leer 100XR (painted by Leer to match the truck) with the following options: Thule roof rack Pet screens ( ordered the XR because of the larger window openings for the dogs. The XL is a better more modern window design if you don’t have pets) Fold down front window (for cleaning)...
  4. Factory Navigation Setting while driving route search

Most of the time that prompt came up on our 3500 trip, my wife would type in the destination while driving. Another way is to push the speak button on the left steering wheel cluster and just say where you want to go. It worked flawlessly on our trip.
  5. Glacier National Park Trip Summary - 22 Powerboost

Directing the airflow and wanting to just have outside air not heated or cooled. Seems like I have to take my eyes off of the road too much to make adjustments. I’m old and used to the three dial system. We are thinking along the same lines for the tailgate. Maybe a 2x2 in the clamp pocket with...
  6. Glacier National Park Trip Summary - 22 Powerboost

Don’t have that option on the my truck, I’ll have to figure out a plan B. I didn’t order the $995 bed package so I have a manual tailgate Smart man, we have been on many adventures and looking forward to the next one to the Sierras
  7. Glacier National Park Trip Summary - 22 Powerboost

The wife and I just completed a 3436 mile round trip from Huntington Beach CA to Glacier NP. Very happy with the trucks comfort and performance. Our overall hand calculated MPG was 20.46 (truck display 21.1) this is a 22 157” 501a Powerboost with tow mirrors and a shell. Lots of 80+ MPH highways...
  8. Favorite tar remover?

Alcohol (gel) based hand cleaner works great, and you probably already have some! Spray wax application after removing is a good practice.
  9. Mountain Driving in a PowerBoost?

Just completed a 3450 mile trip from So. Cal to Glacier NP. PB was great, lots of mountain driving and 80+ mph roads. Averaged 21.1 MPG. And most importantly had plenty of passing power (even uphill) when needed. as stated above, learn to use the shift lever block out of the higher gears (mostly...
  10. What did you do WITH your F-150 today?

I’m in HB also, where is this camping spot?
  11. First New Vehicle - Rattles & Squeaks?

I had the annoying tapping sound to the left side of the Sync screen. Thank goodness it stopped after 4 or 5 times. No idea what it was. It sounded electrical. If they are constant the dealer should be able to solve the three issues, the more difficult situation is an intermittent issue. Good luck
  12. Professional ceramic coating with best shine?

Just my two cents but this $14 product has worked out very well. Hand wash and you can coat a 157” with a shell in less than 15 minutes. Offroad mud and fine dust just hoses off, very easy to wash and remove tree sap, jet fuel spots, and general road grime. I’ve gotten 5 coatings in one year and...
  13. What did you do WITH your F-150 today?

First Offroad trip to Holcomb Valley (San Bernardino mountains in So Cal). Easy drive, except for the narrow areas with on coming traffic. The power folding tow mirrors are a real blessing, the 157” wheelbase wasn’t an issue on this easy trail. The wife and dogs enjoyed hiking 5+ miles on the...
  14. Windshield cleaning and coating

Lots of rain here in So Cal and with the marginal wiper effectiveness I tried a new cleaning and rain repellent on the windshield. The TurtleWax slick glass worked very well. Make sure to properly clean older or dirty glass prior to using.
  15. am I the only one with piss poor mpg

My average MPG over 5000 miles is 20.2 The truck is a 22 PB Lariat 157” tow mirrors and a flush cab shell. Most of my miles are beach city with stop signs and signals every block. The few short trips were 200 miles from sea level to 8,000 feet and back (3 trips). On other short trips 75ish...
  16. Bed cap/topper question from newbie

You will loose visibility with any cap/topper/shell. I now have 2000 miles with my Leer top and I’m used to it but it was a big adjustment over an open bed. The rear hatch is frameless but still has the bottom blacked for the latch and tailgate cover. I ordered framed side windows to get maximum...
  17. Ultimate Powerboost Roadtrip: 8600 miles to Yellowstone and Back!

Nice detailed post about your trip. Did you happen to take the dirt road in Hayden Valley while in Yellowstone? Really nice views of the back country with a lot of wildlife viewing opportunities. Also, if you ever get back that way, you might want to include Zion National Park. It has...
  18. MY 23 Orders with Spray In Bedliners

Received my 157” PB a few months ago. If I had to do it over again I would install the LineX and not have ordered the factory liner. My son in law got the LineX installed and yes it costs a little more but is a much better installation. The factory liner is sprayed over the bed bolts and not...
  19. Need tow mirrors width measurement

108” or 9’ wide overall 15” same measurement as shown in your picture.
  20. KO2s on Powerboost. Not super happy with the MPG hit. Is there a happy middle ground?

I have been wondering about tire replacement on my 22 PB. I have the 275 65 18 size. The stock Goodyear tires weigh in at 38lbs. All options I reviewed just for the SL rating were 42-45 lbs, and going to an E rating gets well over 52lbs. I have a CMax Energi and learned the hard way about tire...
