Thanks for the insight. I finally picked up the X2 this morning for my Raptor. Tired of the low battery warnings and remote start not working (and occasional need to use the battery boost).
Hoping this finally fixes that annoyance.
We own both a PowerBoost (Platinum) and a Raptor. No doubt the PowerBoost would beat the Raptor in a drag race, but the Raptor is unanimously the more fun and engaging truck to drive in my household — wife, 19 yo son and myself all agree on that point.
That’s a hack job. He let a new guy learn on your truck. I’ve had multiple vehicles wrapped by Xpel and only had one minor fix on a Jeep a few years ago.
Frankly, I think they need to start over.
This describes nearly every dealer in Austin right now – regardless of brand. We had the Mercedes dealer sit on my Wife’s car for 4 days before looking at it. Pre-“Rona, they would have looked at it the same day.
If it helps, we have have a 2022 Platinum PB and a 2022 Raptor. Both are terrific and have not experienced either of the issues you mention.
My only complaint (like Blackout) was the ridiculous chip hold issue we experienced in summer/fall 2022.
West Austin is full of hills so turbos kick in a lot here. My 2013 Ecoboost mainlined gas whenever the turbos kicked in. Powerboost is a little better, but it is still punitive.
Smart move on the auto fold. Forgot to do that before the ice storm. They still work, but I was really concerned after the awful noise when frozen closed by the ice. I will not make that mistake again.
Running boards are no louder than the 2019 Escalade which traded in and make a very similar mechanical noise. As long as they don’t break, I can live with the noise.
Also, we had no problems with them working in the ice storm we had a couple of weeks ago. Now, the fixed running boards on the...
I have Xpel on the Raptor and another vehicle. I've really liked it and have zero complaints. I'll likely continue to use it on future vehicles.
That said, Llumar, 3M, etc all make really quality ceramic tint products.
We have a Tesla Model S. It is a terrific commuter car, and we use it alot.
To be frank, the Powerboost is a great middle ground and much more practical if you want to go on a roadtrip or tow. I don't see $30K premium (or more) for the Lightning as a great buy.
The price of the laptop Is worth it solely for the stupid double honk when you the truck running with the keys in your pocket. I don’t know who in corporate believes this is a good idea, but they are total dumbasses.
I love the console shifter. It just feels more satisfying than a dial and much better than the column shifter on the wife’s Escalade. I think it goes back to my youth and driving manual transmission vehicles.
We had a similar issue with a BMW under warranty probably 10 years ago. Dealer tried to tell me normal wear and tear and I had to escalate it to the regional guys. Needless to say, we didn’t buy another BMW after that.
Glad that Ford covered it without making a big deal.
Don’t worry about it. It will happen at some point. I had zero notice, but I’ve had three updates in about 8 days. Ford definitely doesn’t have the same level of OTA update that Tesla has put in place.
