Interesting. Thanks for the info. I will admit I’m disappointed to hear ATT is required with Polestar and what that may mean for Ford.
I have unlimited hotspot from another provider that I use for work very often. It works great. Fast and available everywhere.
Hopefully at least WiFi will be...
If it's fully Android, it should be more easily hackable (both good and bad). No longer being married to AT&T for their hotspot service would be a big positive of this change.
I'm not sure. From reading the evolution of Sync (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Sync), it seems like it was first based on Microsoft software, and then in 2014 Sync 3 switched to Blackberry software. And now it seems like they're switching to Google. My guess is it will still be called...
The article does mention:
"Under the deal, Ford and Lincoln vehicles will sport Android, the Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play starting in 2023."
Really interesting.
UPDATED WITH FORD PRESS RELEASE:
Ford and Google to Accelerate Auto Innovation, Reinvent Connected Vehicle Experience
Ford and Google come together in first-of-its-kind partnership to create unique services and capabilities for Ford and Lincoln customers, and to...
I agree although I am personally skeptical that introducing this unnecessary mechanical component to a crucial system was a wise choice. My money is on the fold down shifter lasting only a single MY.
In my order I specifically chose not to get the work surface to avoid this shifter only to...
I didn’t necessarily mean pointing and clicking while moving. But rather having it accessible for quick interaction at stop lights or a visual indicator to pull over and perform some action.
I tend to agree. While I can see the value of a work surface for filling out paperwork, I much prefer a fixed laptop mount that can be used with a computer while driving — a laptop sitting on a work surface could present a dangerous projectile if in a collision.

I ordered in November but no VIN from my dealer either. They claim it's because of the Max Recline seats. I thought even with a supply chain issue, I'd have a VIN and a late build date.
Agree, good read. Though they did get the payload and towing numbers are wrong....both are listed “up to 11000 pounds” that’s a lot of payload indeed, and of course some configurations tow more.
That's a bummer about the Max Towing price. I ordered that feature too, so like most here who haven't gotten their trucks yet, I'm hopeful the original price will be honored.
Comparing "Max Trailer Tow Package" to "Trailer Tow Package", I see several key differences:
1. 3.55 or 3.73 axle...
I have a RAM 1500 and it will correct steering for about 2-3 seconds before popping up a message "Lane Departure Detected, Put Hands on Steering Wheel". If that message pops up 3 times in 30 seconds, the lane departure system is turned off altogether. It can be reenabled with a button press...
Hi guys, new to the forum. This is my first post.
I have an order in for a 2021 F150 platinum and I am happy to see Ford with the Active Drive Assist as an entry into autonomous vehicle technology.
I'm very curious in Tesla's FSD capability (and the videos of the beta look really amazing) and...
