Not really, you would need this device, a new amplifier and then you could run to any subwoofer. But the roll-off is there so you do not damage the factory subwoofer, so as you could imagine, more power and removing the roll-off, you will have a blown factory subwoofer :)
Have not heard the update yet, but of course have heard from a dozen people asking for a solution. It's a tough one since it's factory, not much you can do. In the aftermarket world when we an interface, it would not be affected as these "tunes/updates" are pushed to the factory amplifier (DSP)...
The OEM kit could be programmed to the EQ being on since every Ford truck has this EQ active. In the aftermarket, it's best with the EQ off but only when doing a full system since you do not want subwoofer bass going to your door speakers. For sub only (Aftermarket), you use a KeyLOC to fix the EQ.
If you are adding the subwoofer/bass portion only, the factory amplifier is retained to run the interior speakers. When upgrading the entire system, the factory amplifier is removed as it is not needed anymore.
lol, yes... We know most customers do not have the test tools that we do and we wanted to make sure we do not get returns for "this thing will not program" or "this does not work right". So we eliminated those by tuning them before shipping (y)
Don't Touch :D:D!! They are set to the factory system, by our team, in a truck, with that factory system. It will output 4v RCA voltage, so set the gain on your amplifier.
Pull from the power/ground of your amplifier/distro, do not use another source. It all needs to match. On the power side, be sure to add a small 10a fuse to protect the small wire.
If you want to check the ground, you have to put the truck on different inclines and test going down the road. We have seen as high as 50ohms in some trucks and brand new ones you can get 0ohms. But as that truck gets older, the impedance rises, and nothing but troubleshooting issues. Treat the...
Looks to be a great setup, my only concern is you really need to run power and ground all the way to the battery under the hood. Using the factory ground point on the rear wall causes all types of issues and we receive phone calls daily with people who use that spot.
Otherwise, looks good
At $1000, it will be tough. The best route is to install the block-off plates + Blackhole Sound Treatment on the plastic door cards + some on the inside metal.

For improving the rear speaker volume, this is a great option/solution. Signal-in - amplified and to the respective speakers. If you use a high-quality brand like Kicker, JL Audio, Alpine, Gladen-Mosconi, or Arc Audio, then you do not need a LOC, just speaker-level (High-Level) RCA signal into...
The Kicker KeyLOC will generate a remote turn on, so no need to run that. On the KeyLOC, you will find three wires.
Yellow = Power
Black = Ground
Blue = Remote for your HS8

Yes, new amplifiers for the newer trucks. Nothing really different in terms of performance.
