There is no harness there, I just replaced the cupholders with the tensioner one. I suppose you could get an extra harness made for future ambient lighting if you choose.
I thought it was discontinued. Got mine for half that….
I really want it to have ambient lighting but will not jeopardize the “ hard the find cupholder” for it unless I have a very detailed instructions. It stays on my mind though.
This is what I purchased for the rear console cupholder area. I guess you could cross reference the numbers and do a little homework before you order such item stock number. I ordered it off eBay and cross reference the numbers. It wasn’t cheap.🙄
Just giving you my humble opinion here and I know you have not asked for it.
Save you some time and frustration, get with @JHForman812 on what you need. Draw up a simple wiring diagram that suits your specific needs and installation, PM him and he can Provide! Every thing created is very OEM...
@Zyvin
Can you provide a few snap shot Diagrams for removing the console media bin tray so @Grettman can remove it to cut a media light slot for ambient lighting? I know the 2021-2023 should all be the same drawings on the floor console- shifter area- media bin.
Thanks and much appreciate.
Just posting related info::
. (just a short video of console removal). Probably not what you need but just another set of eyes on the same area. This is for a F250 but they’re the same.
I understand completely now, so you’re trying to remove the console or more less; remove the media cubby and tray in order to cut a precise whole— gotcha 👍🏻
Let me look for that removal tab/ sheet or a detail pdf
One other /last- comment :
I did not remove my media bin and / or take it all the way out, when I was doing the media bin ambient lighting upgrade. I just fished everything through and pop the light in the empty space, and then put it all back together.
So I guess my question is : why are...
Go back and look at tab number 9 for some photos of removal of the center console and media bin. I’ll try to find you a few other numbered # tabs for review.
if I remember correctly, once you remove the side (hockey stick shape) pieces and lower plastic leg panels, then lift straight up on...
I have the upgraded front armrest (rear cup holder area with retention) and thought about adding the rings and connectors for ambient lights but as John has stated… a lot of work and as hard as it was to obtain one and the cost$$, I just haven’t brought myself to start cutting and trimming on...
Look at tab sheet 39/40 for my installation. Typically there isn’t an upper light, so some of us have taken upon themselves to install one and with one of @JHForman812 harnesses. There are previous post on this installment. I went with blue light. Take your time on cutting, again Take your...
I Agree with you also,
there’s many ways to possibly illumination the cup holder for more visibility than actual, having illumination in the bottom area.
But it would be awesome to have that same look (same illumination in the bottom cupholder area) as the front. It would look more factory...
I agree I remember the post from somewhere but can’t remember where or who.
And I agree with you; doing it just like the front cupholders would be more aesthetically correct and not haphazardly done with small pin holes using the extra small spotlights from the doors.
But to each his own, if...
