if you charge without the bms, let the truck sit undisturbed for like 8 hours. It should learn the new soc.
If you reset the bms, it will reset the battery age as well. So typically you only do that when putting in a new battery.
I get the concern, and I’m pretty picky with my illusion of control over how I’m tracked too. That’s one of the reasons I use iOS over android.
But if we’re really concerned we won’t use any modern phone or vehicle.
At least the phone manufacturers give the illusion of caring about your...
The bms is how the truck knows the details about the truck like state of charge. So if you charge the battery and bypass the bms,the truck could think the battery has a lower state of charge than it actually does. So, the truck could still be putting you in powersave mode, or I guess it could...
The fob will stop transmitting after being motionless after some time.
I’d still prefer a hardware switch on the fob that disconnects the battery. Then it would work even in your pocket.
Ran across a post on Reddit post where a user claimed that Ford uses a motion sensitive key fob for most 22/23 ford models.
According to this user,
“Most 22-23 models. If the key FCC ends in 338 or 339, it's the new motion key.
If the FCC ends in 2300 or 2600, they are the older style that is...
you need the ford enhanced pids like @fordtruckman2003 mentioned. Most are under the body control module, but a few are under the power control module.
you can setup a dashboard, or setup the logging option to dump to a csv.
except the deep sleep isn’t a recent issue for a lot of folks, I’m in the south, and I’ve been having the issue for a few months even when it was warm.
At least with the logging of my truck, the rate of charge is incredibly low when running for the soc. did that start with an update? Not...
I get the decline in charging, I just didn’t expect it to be so low for my given state of charge.
As far as modules go, nothing obvious is on. Any suggestions on how to do a deeper diagnosis of this? Ive recently started leaving my obdlink mx plugged in, but it shuts off pretty quickly after...
Perhaps it is. Seems like an update could certainly tweak the algorithm. I started noticing my issue back in... I think it was Oct., but maybe Sept. It started off occasional, but then became persistent.
Still, seems like the best course of action for those who are encountering the issue...
So, like many, I've been following the thread that @FirstFord started about installing an H8 sized battery. It's a good thread if you haven't read it.
I like many have been dealing with the dreaded power savings mode and having features disabled. It's really annoying at night when the interior...
Sure, nothing is perfect, especially the charging system on these trucks it seems :P. I wonder if it accounts for all of these corrections.
But, some chargers do seem to account for some of this like temp. The Noco claims it does..
If you have any user defined pids on your dashboards, it would be appreciated to include those as well in the export. But otherwise, sounds right. Thanks!
That’s a pretty swank setup. And the way u have the Noco setup,, seems like the bms should register the charge.
Im sure most have seen this video, but it’s a good one.
One of the things I noticed in that video was the truck appeared to be drawing 8-10 amps even when it was off. Is that what...
