  1. 2023 F-150 Heritage Edition Announced to Celebrate 75th Anniversary of F-Series Trucks

The best I can do is celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the F-100 with a 2022 Lightning. My uncle had a 1962 just like the one in the picture.
  2. Ford Mobile Charger

Anither endorsement here for Dustin. I think he’s the best. I always appreciate his evangelism for electricians to professionally practice their craft.
  3. Ready For The Ford 80A Charge Station Pro

It looks like the confusion is that the original electrician's estimate for the EVSE circuit is for an 80 Amp circuit, not a 100 Amp protected continuous 80 Amp load.
  4. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

...including how internal combustion engines lose $3.00 of that $4.00/gallon of gasoline in heat, internal friction losses, etc. That would be 27 gallons of the 36 gallon tank example above.
  5. Battling dealers trying to sneak ADM in even when the accepted order says $0 ADM (Tri-Ford, Highland, IL)

Good luck. Dealers have a lot of power in halls of state governments. In my state, no pricing is final until you have signatures on a final purchase agreement. Perhaps, if you have an email or similar written commitment not to charge ADM, you could claim something. In any event, what are your...
  6. 🛠 6/6 Lightning Build Week Group

Somewhere on The Internets. That's the problem. I think this forum has more Ford truck experts than most other places.
  7. 🛠 6/6 Lightning Build Week Group

I've got to bone up on how to watch the live production video. I hate to sound skeptical, but is it true there's a way to do this?
  8. Charging the F-150 Lightning: Everything You Need To Know [Video]

Wouldn't you then need to increase the size of the conductors feeding the new 'sub-panel'/breaker box?
  9. Charging the F-150 Lightning: Everything You Need To Know [Video]

...it would be called a NEMA 6-50R. Why not do it right?
  10. Charging the F-150 Lightning: Everything You Need To Know [Video]

It depends on whether you want the 14-50R receptacle to pass an inspection without a neutral. You could always buy the Home Flex with a NEMA 6-50P plug on its cordset and install a NEMA 6-50R receptacle. If I had any thoughts of downgrading from hard-wired 48 Amp charging to 40 Amp charging...
  11. J1772 Extension Cable

I have a Lectron 40 Amp, also. Beware Tesla Generation 2 Wall Connectors that can deliver the full 80 Amps that Lightning will be requesting. I had a brief email back and forth with Lectron about their 40 Amp rating. I pointed out that it is very common that hard-wired Wall Connectors are...
  12. Modifying my Lightning order

2/17 was Wave 4 of converting reservations to order submitted to dealer for acceptance
  13. Ready For The Ford 80A Charge Station Pro

CTA 2045 addresses this building block of smart grid utility initiated demand management. https://shop.cta.tech/products/modular-communications-interface-for-energy-management
  14. Stealth Camping in the Lightning!

Great idea! I'd like to be able to pitch a tent on top of a properly strengthened tonneau cover with a tent design that attaches to the bed rails in some form.
  15. Sneaky Dealerships

I agree, but their lack of transparency qualifies as a shenanigan when advertising a vehicle that has never seen their lot, and cannot be sold for six+ months. Sure, an ad that isn't transparent would be but a drop in the ocean of deceptive ads....
  16. Good luck everyone. Looks like I’m getting a Super Duty instead of a Lightning.

Those extra 2 horsepower might come in handy. :sneaky:
  17. What will be different for MY23 and MY24 Lightning?

LFP makes a lot of sense for fleet and work trucks, among others..
  18. EV Charging Network Will Target Interstates Before Expanding Into Remote Rural and Crowded Urban Areas

I don't think anyone is suggesting that they rip out all of their fossil pumps on Day 1 to install DCFC. As you said, it's a transition. Fossil fuels will be around for many years. My thought is that public seed money would be well-spent to align and combine new charging locations with existing...
  19. EV Charging Network Will Target Interstates Before Expanding Into Remote Rural and Crowded Urban Areas

Existing Wawa, QuikTrip, Sheetz, Royal Farms, and the other regional pumper/convenience mega-marts are the locations that I think are most important to enlist for DCFC locations.
