The snow traction has been awesome, they do great on hard packed and fresh powder covered roads.
This tire has out performed all of the other AT tires that I've owned.
KO2's
Ridge Grapplers
Cooper AT3
Cooper ST Maxx
Dick Cepek EXP
Firestone Destination AT2
Quick update on the XT's.
I finally had the chance to test the wet weather traction and I'm totally impressed. The XT's were very hard to break traction and I was being very aggressive on the throttle. Definitely no hydraplaning in standing water.
They are a huge improvement over the Ridge...
New tires just went on!
Firestone Destination XT
275 65 20.
On the drive home they were very quiet and just as compliant as the XL rated Ridge Grapplers that I took off.
I didn't notice any difference in steering feel or acceleration, which is always a concern with E load tires.
I can't wait...
Good post!!
After doing a bunch of research I will be replacing my Ridge Grapplers with a set of XT's in the fall.
They will be 275 60 20 load range E.
I have a 2021 and had the same clunking noise, everything was torqued to spec and no broken parts.
I had this same issue on two Tacomas (2010 and 2020), I applied Fluid Film to the Leaf springs and it made the noise go away on all three trucks.
I have the MBRP 3" Street with resonator installed, it has a deep throaty cold start and settles down to a nice idle. (5.0)
The MBRP does drone quite a bit and I wouldn't buy it again.
