  1. 2021 F150 Part number on Backup assist Connector

Ford parts can't seem to find a part number or know what I am talking about. I am looking for the connector that plugs into the truck and module for the Backup assist. I can only find the entire kit on Fords website and its pretty expensive. Trailer Brake Control Module Kit Yaw Rate...
  2. Need new transmission. Use Ford service or local mechanic?

She said a "bolder" not sure what that means. The cloth one that comes with these trucks didn't do anything apparently but I bet a nice skid plate that I'll have them throw on. They didn't open up anything yet waiting on insurance before they do that. Insurance will be out on Friday.
  3. Need new transmission. Use Ford service or local mechanic?

Thanks for the reply. Mechanic said they get the transmission from a local Ford dealer and then the dealer comes out to do the programming and warranty on the transmission is backed by Ford. Have to wait and see what insurance has to say I guess.
  4. Need new transmission. Use Ford service or local mechanic?

The other issues is the quote at Ford will most likely be way higher and insurance may not cover it all.
  5. Need new transmission. Use Ford service or local mechanic?

The wife hit something on the road smacked the transmission pan and destroyed the transmission, filling a claim with insurance ('21 F150 3.5 with 46k miles). I was able to limp it to the local shop (not Ford). I have not had a positive with experience with Ford service in the past. Would it...
  6. Tow mode vs normal

From the manual: TOW/HAUL - 4X2 For improved transmission operation when towing a trailer or a heavy load. This mode moves upshifts to higher engine speeds to reduce the frequency of transmission shifting. This mode also provides engine braking in all forward gears, which slows your vehicle...
  7. Tow mode vs normal

    3.5 ecoboost
  8. Tow mode vs normal

Yesterday coming home from my sons racing I forgot to put it back in tow mode. We tow a 20ft all aluminum eclosed trailer total weight maybe 5k LBS (quarter midget cars). I've read before you don't need to be in tow mode for freeway driving is this true? It appeared my RPMs stayed lower and...
  9. Factory battery ongoing issues

They won't be able to fix it dealership are completely incompetent unless the computer tells exactly what to do they won't know what to do. You can keep going back for a few months keeping records then filing a lemon law. Even if they fix it ask your lawyer about cash and keep option that way...
  10. Are you trading your 21-23 for. 24+?

Not sure if you have missed the news but EVs have crashed and burned. They had everything behind them desperately trying to push them forward from the Government scare tactics and mandates to auto makers saying by 20** we will be all Electric. Now these companies are posting BILLION $$$$ loses...
  11. Are you trading your 21-23 for. 24+?

Not a chance. I paid below $59k for my 2021 Lariat plus with all the issues (mostly take care of) had some monitary compensation for my troubles. My truck is $70k+ as a 2024. Even with the lingering issues im perfectly happy saving $20k+ plus the crazy interest rates.
  12. Bluecruise What is Ford Thinking ??

Most dealers are not competent enough to figure out how to get out of 1.4. They will say your truck is up to date, or it's normal just give it another 3 1/2 years. Best bet is to go do the loaner thread on here have the equipment sent to you do the update over three days send it back and buy...
  13. Request VIN Lookup Thread

  15. Ford cutting workforce at F-150 Lightning plant in Dearborn

What are you towing that you can get a 160 miles on? Do you live in a northern state? Now you are down to 80 miles towing in the winter if you are. We pull a 8.5x20 aluminum enclosed trailer for my son's racing no way I would get 160 miles in a lightning pulling that. Our 1st trip this year...
  16. Ford cutting workforce at F-150 Lightning plant in Dearborn

Nope at least $20k before they are practical. Even then if you are using it as a truck still wouldn't be practical.
  17. “System off to save battery” every time I shut off the truck

Dealerships are incompetent these days. They can't fill up a tire with air unless the computer tells them what tire and how to connect the hose. You are better off buying a new battery and installing it yourself then get the run around and multile trips to the dealer. At least that is what I...
  18. Deleting the Pro Trailer Backup Assist knob (Aka Noob Knob)

Post #59 and #60 summed everything up perfectly. Go read those a few times.

Haha these people always "know executives" or "I'm an engineer " yep buddy I'm writing this post from the moon. I actually backed my truck up all the way here using the technology your imaginary "executive" thinks is a "stupid piece of tech and a gimmick" It's such a stupid piece of tech and...
