I’m not quite there yet, but I have 150k on my original trans so far. I’m the original owner and it’s been driven with 1200+ lbs of payload in the bed since day one, plus towing. It still shifts like new, but I do service the trans every 6 months (30k miles).
So far my KO2’s are still quieter than the Scorpions were when they were worn out. I was expecting them to sound like mud terrain tires, but they are only slightly louder now with 85k on them as they were when they were new
I’m just writing to say how much I freaking love the KO2’s on my truck! I’ve logged over 85k miles on them and they still get me through my muddy rural driveway like nobody’s business, and they still have loads of tread left after all those miles. The stock Pirelli Scorpion tires lasted 50k...
Maybe a Toyota with a self destructing engine is more up your alley?
All joking aside I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having problems with your ride. My 22 has been flawless over the 125k miles of ownership. My transmission is smooth as butter still and I haven’t had any electrical problems. Then...
There really is no rhyme or reason to the updates. I bought my truck new in Dec 22 and got my first update at 5k miles one month later in Jan 23. Then crickets for over a year, once I crossed 100k miles I started getting updates daily until I was fully up to date on them. My truck gets them on...
Glad I didn’t get one, it would have been a waste of money for me. I’ve only had the e-brake recall (which I did myself) and a valve cover gasket (still under factory warranty at that time). I even started getting OTA updates again after about a year of being stuck in OTA purgatory
I have the “ugly step child” 3.3 v6, specifically for this reason though. However it tows over 6k lbs every week for me on some roughforest service roads and always has 1k lbs of payload in the bed. The truck has only been unladen once, when I drove it home from the dealership
I do find it interesting that people think a Kevlar wet belt is some sort of new technology that doesn’t require attention. They’ve been around for decades and definitely still need replacement at regular intervals. No belt should be run past 10yr/100k no matter how much someone wants to believe...
I’m well aware of internet pictures which can be found to support an argument on either side. Some people have more specific use cases for there trucks than others, and what needs protecting. If it’s a truck driven in suburbia then it’s not needed, but it works great for many different tasks on...
My other car is an S-Class so I frequent the Mercedes forums as well, and it’s well talked about to avoid the hybrid variants (of any generation, but especially the W221 chassis) like the plague. The early Mercedes/BMW hybrid models didn’t have a high take up rate, nothing close to an F150’s...
I have this one installed on my truck, but I’m not sure about the sensors though, since mine doesn’t have them on the front. I also didn’t want something too bulky. I think I got mine on americantrucks.com if I remember correctly. It was the first thing I put on my truck since my previous truck...
I have one of the Chinese knockoffs on my XL. I went for the chrome XLT style since it was the grille that I personally like the most on our generation. Quality seemed just as good as my stock XL grille and it’s held up great over 85k miles so far. Nor chips or peeling chrome. And like you I...
Nope, my ‘22 is paid for and will be used as a farm truck when it’s done being my daily. I’ll get a Super Duty down the line for when I need to start hauling heavier loads for my business
Yep I installed it myself, it’s fairly straightforward, and much easier if you have a second set of hands (I didn’t) to assist holding it while getting the bolts in.
