Please just keep in mind that there is no single "best" for everyone; there are folks happily towing the Escape 5.0 with most every hitch system on the market.
Just like with F150 engines, what matters are your preferences / wants / needs.
The key is "AND" not "OR"
Read very carefully because it can be rather confusing - but you might start here
Classes of Driver Licenses | Department of Public Safety
That is not correct in Texas (or any other state?).
You don't need a CDL unless you are towing for commercial purposes or the vehicle + trailer GCWR exceeds 26,000 pounds. As long as you meet those two criteria, you're good with a regular (non-commercial) Class C TXDL (see the back of your...
Actually, to say "2021's and up" is a bit misleading ....
All of the text you posted is found in the Order Guides for each model year and has changed / evolved over the years, particularly beginning MY 2024.
Up through MY 2023 the "Max Tow Package (53C) was fairly consistently described and...
I'm very satisfied with the B&W Turnoverball / Andersen Ultimate hitch combination. Many 5.0 owners happily use that setup in 5.5ft bed F150s.
I, too, am a huge fan of molded fiberglass trailers - I bought my Escape after 20 happy years with a 17ft Casita, would never consider any other RV...
Congrats, It's a great trailer behind an F150! ( :D see my signature block)
Just curious .... ordering the Escape 5.0 new or buying used?
BTW, I've not suffered a bolt-break yet on my 2022 3.5EB with Max Tow. 🤞
On your fob, are you pressing the lock button briefly once, releasing and then promptly pressing and holding to raise the windows? Same with unlock to lower the windows?
On the second push, hold down until you see the windows start to move up / down.

Thanks for that informative update / test result (y)
Maybe no help but FYI / FWIW attached are the System Operation and Diagnosis and Testing sections from the Workshop Manual (trailer brakes are referenced as "Auxiliary Brake System" in the WSM).
Good luck.
Please note that sticker reflects the receiver's rated capacity only, not the truck's rated capacity which may be (most likely is) lower.
The attached guide or this online VIN-specific towing calculator may be useful for determining the truck's rated capacity.
This forum isn't configured to support that, though I think it could be if the Admins wanted to enable the capability.
I'm on another XenForo forum which provides an option to "export thread", which generates a printer-friendly formatted version of an entire thread (the "export" has all post...
True anti-lock requires wheel speed sensors with feedback to the controlling system, so, no.
The TBC has no way of knowing whether a trailer wheel is rotating or not. I can easily lock my trailer brakes on loose gravel with the manual lever, or with the brake pedal if the gain is not adjusted...
Just FYI for the OP, if you want to do this search the APIM-700 tab on the FORScan spreadsheet for "IODN" - that's the sidecard for Navigation which can be toggled to disabled.
Understood, that was the point of my post.
Given that a 3.55 Max Tow axle is listed in the initial (only?) 2025 Order Guide (attached in my post), I wonder if that's an erroneous oversight on the build and price website?
It wouldn't be the first time there's an error in the online build and...
Please explain what that means?
I experienced this problem for the first time ever yesterday, took me a while to figure out what the chimes were trying to tell me but finally figured out it was the headlights. Mine had been on Auto since day one.
Perhaps unrelated coincidence but I received...
@Bobcatou
At this point I'd not juke with anything, just use the truck as normal and see if through all the excitement since the big charge you reported Sunday it's managed to recover, recalibrate, and find a happy place on its own.
🤞
Historically the 3.5 EB got a 3.55 axle for Max Tow, that's what seems to be missing on the retail 2025 build and price options.
The 3.55 Max Tow axle is listed in the 8/26/2024 Order Guide (for 2025 model year) - has anyone seen an updated Order Guide?
What you're doing is no different than installing a solar / lithium system on an RV trailer, it just happens to be mounted in the truck.
As with an RV system, the need for charging from the truck depends on the output of your solar panel, the battery capacity, and your 'camp gear' loads.
