Just got the letter for this today. "Our records show that your vehicle was previously serviced with an incorrect catalytic converter due to a service parts catalog error. Tailpipe emissions may be higher than intended. Parts are now available to repair your vehicle."
@Jerome10 For the longest time, I also thought my noise was a loose heat shield, but neither the dealer nor a well-rated independent mechanic could find anything loose. I don't know if you have the same problem I did, but the video sounds very similar (as do your symptoms), and I've now...
Had the same sound + symptoms (1400-1800 RPM, cold engine). Sound would go away on battery only, was most noticeable when accelerating.
Drove me bonkers.
Visited dealer 3x w/o luck. Paid independent dealer $200 to hunt it down – looking for loose clips, checking bolts, etc. Nothing...
Just finished. Sharing my experience in case there's anyone out there super new to this, who might run into some of the same stuff.
Had 3 motivations for getting FDRS:
Onboard scales were off by 300 or so lbs. Contacted dealer but didn't hear back, and wasn't looking forward to leaving the...
Once I fully charged the battery with the Clore, I switched it to power supply mode, and then plugged in my laptop into the AC outlet in the front. The available Windows laptop I have has a really old battery that doesn't hold very much charge. But it's enough for calibration, and as a backup...
Thanks for the alignment tips. I'll take a closer look at Google Maps.
I'm using FDRS. Given that, should I reset learned values every time before I run IPMA alignment, or will IPMA alignment overwrite all of the values? I assume the answer to the latter is no, otherwise, they wouldn't offer...
Tried 2x, failed 2x. Maybe it was too dark. Trying again tomorrow.
The on-screen instructions made it sound like it needed to be in a parking lot, but the post above sounds like it can be on a road.
Anyone know, and have other tips?
Also not sure my IPMA alignment was any good. It...
One other minor note from the perspective of a noob who just went through the guide: I created an account on helminc.com when purchasing the FDRS license, and tried using those creds in FDRS, since they both referenced Motorcraft. When I reread the guide, I saw the note about creating a...
I searched but didn't see a note on this: Maybe it's because my truck is a '22, but I updated DDM and did not need to re-initialize – one-touch up/down were working after the update.
Picked up the truck on Monday. No reverse brake assist, and see 3 DTCs in FDRS:
IPMA B1578 78 2F
IPMA U0415 86 28
PSCM U3003 68 2C
Looks like I need to update the ABS module, run IPMA alignment, run 360 camera alignment, and possibly also perform steering center find relearn?
'22 F-150 PB. Had my front bumper + upper molding reconditioned and put back on.
Do I need to recalibrate pre-collision assist, or only if I get a warning on screen? Is this IPMA alignment?
Asking b/c the vendor my body shop uses charges $495 (and my local dealer is still searching for...
In the rare event someone is like me and paranoid about running Forscan on their truck, a dealer told me yesterday they can't program it. They said unless it's designated as compatible with the VIN, Ford no longer lets them program equipment. They can see the options, but they can't select...
BTW, what's the total amount of time it took folks to swap units, and then to program the unit?
I'm going to ask my local shop to do it, and bill me hourly.
I also don't use recirculation, and still get the smell on startup for a few minutes, like @Insman1515 described. My local shop removed the filter and panels and scoped it, but didn't see any mold. Also confirmed AC drain was ok. They sprayed anti-bacterial cleaner, but it hasn't really done...
