Lol i was meaning to say the 4600 shocks are ugly because they are bright yellow vs the silver 5100s. Your truck looks way better than many on this forum esp with those rims.
I always say that the 18's ride way better on the new F150s so nice to know someone else is in that camp.
Still feel like this was an improvement?
Also they're ugly, but I think with those wheels the 4600 shock may be slightly better suited for your tire size.
The 5100s would be great but you would feel small bumps more. See...
It is definitely a little lazy on regular Fuel.
I went from a tank of e85 to 87 and was wondering if my intake was blocked turning right out of the gas station - way less torque. Then I remembered the 60lb ft difference between e85 and gas tables.
I run lower tire pressure in the rear unless towing or hauling. Usually the recommended +1 or 2 psi in the front, and minus 1 or 2 psi in the rear.
When your shocks are factory, the roads are graded with sand + snow, and you have 20's, the ride will suffer, compared to more sidewall and better...
case in point: I already need a new CDF drum after babying my truck 20k miles and never towing. Luckily before warranty. An independent tech wouldn't even drop my pan for a fluid change after test driving it. Told me go straight to dealer to get a new drum. Bang cluck clunk goes the 10 speed.
IMO the latest gens of the 3.5 and 5.0 are both bulletproof compared to previous iterations.
However, for this study, I would say that the 3.5 has at least 50% more historical sales volume than the 5.0. Which means that the 5.0 is clearly winning here for rate of engines > 150K miles.
I would look yourself just in case. I wouldnt trust the dealer. Costs basically nothing if you have a windows laptop. There is a forscan how to on this forum.
4600s for factory wheels + tires factory height. People just like the 5100s because they are "cooler", but they are optimized for non factory lift and tires, versus the 4600s.
If you put on significantly heavier tires, then consider the 5100s, but in my experience they are more likely to give...
Honestly, I would just do full range to everything if you have a DSP which would be ACM 727-01-01 to ***A 29** I think that is what it was from the factory iirc.
Just make sure to do the chimes and flat EQ separately as noted.
Just curious because we have essentially the same truck, what tire pressures are you running front and rear? I seem to like it most 38 front 33 rear. I envy the Area 51 btw.
I believe this is normal.
Lots of 4rth gen 5.0s mine included Ive heard do this.
Similar to the hood noise at 3k rpm. I wonder if you opened your hood and did a cold start the noise wouldnt happen.
Lease the Ram, buy the Ford. Disable the fuel management on the GM.
Toyota's just doesn't drive well to begin with, so don't mess with them.
If you want, you can update your driver assist modules, add leather and tune your XLT.
Ford trucks in my experience can have issues that need ironing...
