Yup. The Lariat is where you transition to the 4A transfer case (IIRC the Borg Warner 4417). That said, I’ve never noticed any loss of power when mine is in 4A.
I mean, the fact that the Honda Ridgeline…which like four people ever have bought…rates so highly in the mid-size segment tells me CR probably isn’t very reliable on trucks. Sure, it’s a reliable vehicle…but will it stay reliable if I use it for truck stuff?
It’s almost certainly the level and the tires, not your advancing mileage, assuming your tires aren‘t low on air and you have no obvious malfunctions. What tires did you pick? They may be performing different seasonally or at highway speeds.
~7 days is a non-issue unless you have some reason to believe you have a pre-existing battery issue. It’s not until you get to really long airport stays that you have to be proactive about it with all but the fussiest of vehicles. So long as you’ve got a decent drive to the airport, the vehicle...
Without knowing more about your truck and commute, all I can say is that long distance commutes generally aren’t the type of commute that presents an abnormal *reliability* concern, only the usual wear-via-mileage concerns, because everything has plenty of time to get up to operating temperature...
To add to what’s been said, the fuel filler neck isn’t part of the rated capacity of the tank, yet in many vehicle designs it can hold as much as a gallon-ish of fuel if you’ve squeezed extra fuel in at the pump…it’s a bad idea, as it can spill out, but it’s physically possible.
It’s due to the way the hybrid system is listed on KBB and in some other databases. The PowerBoost uses the same 3.5L EcoBoost the non-hybrids use, so the engine is the same, you then have to select your transmission type, which lets you pick either the normal EcoBoost or the hybrid, which...
Find a new service department, if that’s an option locally.
I sometimes would offer him benefit of doubt and say “oh, maybe he means the specific item number he normally orders the oil from Motorcraft as is out of stock from their normal parts house,” but the fact that he thinks the hybrid uses...
Doesn’t matter what vehicle I’m in, I always get better than average mileage out on the Delmarva…since it’s flat as a dinner plate and the speeds are moderate...not too slow, but also never full highway speed.
For those curious about the test cycle details, they are available here, click the “test details“ tab: https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/fe_test_schedules.shtml
Honestly, it’s pretty enlightening, because once you see the details of the test cycle, it’s easy to compare it to your driving and see...
I know from looking just now Toyota has long-term hybrid storage guidelines they at least send out to dealers. I couldn’t find a copy. I’m wondering if Ford has a similar document.
