I think I need to take the truck in for trans check.
Awhile back they updated the PCM or TCM using TSB 23-2250. The issue is still present. The next step is some type of solenoid break in procedure or sticky valve procedure or something.
But that was well over a year ago.
Are there any newer...
There was another thread recently where someone had a similar problem.
There is a new TSB for this. Web search for Ford TSBs and you should find. Hopefully they can take care of it for you.
What necessitates having this done?
Id say mine works great 95+ % of the time. Sometimes I have to put phone in airplane mode then reconnect. Once or twice the CarPlay screen wouldn’t resize till after restarting the truck.
I just assumed usual weird phone and computer glitches.
Is this for...
I personally feel that OEM tires that come on cars are, at best, average. I’ve had others that are downright terrible.
I don’t think it’s so much the brand. It’s the cheap OEMs.
I’ve had Pirelli on a few sedans over the years and loved them. Incredibly quiet and good ride quality and good in...
I kinda think I had something like this when new too. I am pretty sure it is gone now.
I kinda assumed it was the tires and now enough miles and it’s gone?
same build month and year for me. Powerboost here.
I dislike the transmission. 3-4-5 frequently drops into the next gear, as does 6-5 downshift.
It’s clunky. Eco mode seems to smooth it out a bit but it should operate that smoothly in normal.
Fluid level I checked last year. Good. I had one...
When I had a bad OEM battery it passed on the quick test, but then I had to leave with dealer for an hour or 2 for them to do a more comprehensive test, which failed. I wanna say they called it a "rotunda"(?) test.
Maybe this new battery has a similar issue?
Alternator??
Are the Duralast...
Appreciate that feedback. My feeling continues to be it is operating "normally"... its just the busiest most annoying "normal" transmission I've ever experienced.
And if this happens in 3-4-5 with the torque converter locking/unlocking then that makes total sense too. 3 ->4 and 4 -> 5 will...
Yes, 100% get the surge on coast down from 6 -> 5. The surge or lurch will occur coasting or if I apply steady brake pressure.
If I apply ever-increasing brake pressure or just even a smidge of throttle, its generally smooth.
Mine does that too after I wash it. Did some digging. Sounds pretty common. I don't bother doing anything about it.
You could make sure your cowl is installed correctly, fully clipped and all that. I'm not sure it makes a difference though. If I remember when I analyzed it it sure looked...
I kinda have this sometimes if engine is actually on at a light.
I’ve read around a bit and it doesn’t seem uncommon with the 3.5L.
I’d be curious about misfires but I kinda think this is one of those slightly annoying “normal” things.
Sorry don’t have a suggestion I just recall when buying the truck they drilled into head not to lose those codes. I guess your experience is the reason for that.
Would always use a torque wrench for service. Was more thinking about the flat-tire-on-road situation for using the factory tire iron.
Which would be really great time to discover swollen OEM lug nuts
Wanna swap out the 2-piece OEM lug nuts. Hoping folks here can clear up a bit, particularly with Gorilla brand lug nuts. Live in a pretty snowy area and we used to use sand and gravel but it seems over the past 10 years road chemicals are being used a lot more now. Trade rock chips for...
2.7 is the only engine I've not driven.
I generally really love normally-aspirated engines. There is just something about how they build power in the rev-range that I really like. Turbos tend to be 100% torque at 1500 rpm slam in the pants. They're good in their own way but I find often...
