  1. Ford Removing the Spare Tire as Std Equipment

Unfortunately this is Ford caving and following others, 40-60% of new vehicles lack a spare tire (depending on the source cited). GM has been omitting them on smaller vehicles since at least 2011 ish. It’s an obnoxious industry trend that manufacturers like to blame on CAFE but (like flimsy...
  2. Ford F150 2024 Platinum in UAE has no 4A, and explanation?

Hmm… The Middle East Tremor getting the TOD/4A is interesting, as you can pretty much be assured it will be taken off road, and so that tends to suggest a heat concern isn’t the explanation. The fact that the TOD/4A and Hi-Lock are available at all tends to suggest it’s not an export control...
  3. Ford F150 2024 Platinum in UAE has no 4A, and explanation?

Do you have access to like a sales link, brochure, or whatever window sticker equivalent is locally provided? I’d be curious if we can’t parse out what’s going on.
  4. Features you WISH were on an F150

Plug in hybrid with the 2.7L engine and propower. But really I’d just be happy if the 500a package I got in 2022 came back, along with the door keypad. Barring that, I would like to see a choice of transfer case and front differential across the line, not restricted by trim. They aren’t...
  5. SuperCrew vs. SuperCab comparison (specs & features)

Doing away with 500a was a mistake in my view, being able to get a Lariat (SuperCrew -or- Supercab) with the front bench through 2022 was a huge selling point for me and will have me holding on to my truck far longer than I would have otherwise.
  6. What do you want/expect out of the Gen 15 F-150?

Return of the 500A config would be nice, as it stands now I can never really replace my current truck as you can’t get a bench with the 4A transfer case anymore. Of course, if Ford would just let us specify a choice of transfer case at order…
  7. Auto hold Feature - like it or no?

I love it. It’s a major fatigue remover in lengthy traffic. However, I wish Ford had made it a button to activate and deactivate, because sometimes when parking it can be difficult to creep forward just a tad, and I wish they were completely consistent with when it activates on all vehicles as...
  8. Is It Possible To Disconnect Our Trucks From Network?

Same solution as folks who were freaked out about GM’s OnStar worrying it was tracking them over a decade ago…just disconnect the radio/modem. You can always plug it back it before selling. Connected features won’t work, and you‘ll lose access to OTA updates and have to update via FDRS, but the...
  9. Come crawling back. Need advice

Personally, while I would have a hard time giving up the 4A transfer case, I would always rather pay for a *new* truck with a full warranty if the cost is going to be similar. Bells and whistles aren’t important enough for me.
  10. How long do you plan on keeping your truck?

My experience has been that the brand and make of a vehicle is less a predictor of longevity for a single vehicle (as opposed to a whole fleet) than the individual vehicle‘s number of repairs in the first few years. A vehicle that has a lot of early mechanical repairs is one I’m worried was...
  11. My plan - possible?

I know the regular cab officially has the same maximum front legroom as the other two models, 43.9 in., but I’ve always felt the seat back didn’t move back as far or something and I felt constrained too. Then again, I got a bench seat because the console intrudes too much into my legroom, so...
  12. Are there aftermarket option to increase cooled seat performance?

There was a ductwork kit for a previous generation, but as far as I know the seat design has changed.
  13. Question RE: Cup holders

Just as a side note in case anybody comes across this thread while looking for the location if you have front bench seats, it’s under the center seat, towards the back of the space under the seat. This link shows both locations...
  14. 2023 Super Duty has Digital Temperature Gauge Option on Instrument Cluster

Yeah, I don’t understand why Ford doesn’t make it a selectable option. I can understand not making it the default (clutter, etc), but if it’s available to the system and can be enabled via Forscan, it seems silly not to offer it as a selection. But then I‘ve also always thought It was silly...
  15. Dangling cable? 22 Powerboost platinum

Agreed. I almost wonder if it’s road debris. Is it connected to anything on the other end?
  16. Shortage: What parts were swapped from Auto Start Stop Deleted

The never got a solid answer part referred to which part was constrained. But you’re correct, there’s only one starter, so that indicates that didn’t change.
  17. Gauges on 12" screen?..possible?

As the truck has been constructed? No. There’s no direct way to connect to the screen, and as far as I am aware, there is currently no CarPlay/Android Auto app that can stream gauge data to the 12”. HOWEVER… There are products that can feed an HDMI signal to the 12” screen. So you could feed...
  18. Shortage: What parts were swapped from Auto Start Stop Deleted

I never saw a solid answer, but I’ve been operating under the assumption the constrained part was the supplemental electric transmission fluid pump, used to keep up line pressure during start/stop operation, because Ford was having issues getting replacement pumps to folks around the same time...
  19. 2 things that shouldn't bug me as much as they do!

The door ajar thing actually has bugged me. It’s one thing when it’s a static lamp, but with a graphical display it could change, and the vehicle knows which door it is. But I’ve had lots of these silly graphics things over the years that have bugged me. My favorite was that we had two vehicles...
  20. Ford going cheap on the seats

I like the seats in my Lariat. I don’t know if it matters that we got the bench not the console. Mine are the most comfortable seats I’ve had in years. But bodies and seating positions vary, and it’s possible what works for me doesn’t work for you, and vice versa.
