In my experience the install on a PowerBoost really isn't much harder or time consuming. It's been a while since I've worked on one, but I doubt the front strut install took more than an extra 15 minutes compared to a non-PowerBoost F150.
There are pros and cons to each method. Dropping the LCA out of the way is faster, but it makes getting the alignment correct much more time consuming if you're working alone and don't have cam bolts installed. Most people will struggle to get the LCA bolted up in the same exact location and it...
The labor times in Mitchell ProDemand are 4.2 hours for the front shocks and 0.9 hours for the rear shocks, the times are slightly higher for trucks with dynamic suspension. The alignment shouldn't take more than 1.5 hours and is usually way faster with modern alignment racks.
Depending on...
It appears that there is more than one style of front different housing being used by Ford, and one has extra reinforcement around the pinion. Ford also seems to have discontinued many if not all of the 2021MY housings with part numbers starting with ML3Z, they have been replaced with 2022MY...
I'm sure you'll be fine, to be honest my biggest blunders and struggles have always been on my own vehicles. I drive them like they're stolen and I think they hate me for it. I'm just happy that this happened on my own vehicle and not on a customer's vehicle. I'm not happy about eating the cost...
I put 100 miles on the new diff so far and to be blunt I think I may have messed up. Coasting the gears are so silent that you can't tell any difference between 2H, 4A, and 4H, but under acceleration there is some NVH right around 40mph. It's not terrible and it might go away as the gears wear...
The new front diff is installed and getting broken in over the next week. The old diff with the damaged housing and gears is getting torn down to salvage the Torsen and a few other hard parts before getting rebuilt with new gears and a new housing.
My hope is that if I have a fully built spare...
The catalogs I have access to show those part numbers fitting newer Super Duty trucks and Broncos, but I suppose those bolts would work if they are 5/16"-18 thread.
It's a stock Ford Raptor R front diff cover, NL3Z-4033-A
With the thicker aluminum diff cover, the stock bolts only grab a few threads. I wanted to use longer bolts that maintain the same amount of thread engagement that my stock bolts had with the stock cover.
My brand new diff is together and ready for install with one minor exception, the factory never installed the pressed in barb for the vent hose, but on a positive note they did drill the hole. With today being a holiday I probably won't be able to get that missing part until Friday.
I've rebuilt plenty of differentials over the years, but building one from all new parts has been very annoying and I ran into way more problems than I ever could have anticipated. First and foremost Ford's quality control is terrible, I'm used to parts missing from their ring and pinion kits...
My trans felt awful for the first 1,000 miles and started getting noticeably better between 1,000 and 1,500 miles. In the end all my remaining complaints were just a result of the bad factory shift schedules and TCC lockup schedules. My truck never liked the stock coastdown shift to 1st at 5mph...
I still need to get off the line quicker, but December has been a very good month. I managed to set a new personal best running in 4H with Exxon 93oct and I'm still running the stock turbos, stock intake, stock air filter, stock cats, and stock charge pipes.
I'm starting to wonder how much...
I compiled a bunch of data from TireRack's testing of different tires on 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 F150s a couple years ago. Different trucks were tested on different days so this isn't ideal, but it's still good data. The green cells are the 5 best tires in a given test, and the red cells are...
I've never used EBC brake pads before, but I'll be installing a set of EBC ExtraDuty front pads along with their USR "silent" slotted rotors later this month to see how they compare to the factory pads and rotors.
I would imagine that they would work great when towing, but I don't have any...
I just received a set of EBC ExtraDuty front pads in the mail. They are marketed as being much more fade resistant than standard replacement pads and having a wider operating temperature range than standard pads.

Good point on the eIWES, he will either have to delete those or use an older TCCM for a different model year in a configuration that Ford never built.
