The stuff held in suspension is the very fine sub-micron wear products. As to the filter's capability the best out there are on the order of 20-40µ while probably most are more like 50-80µ. There may well be stuff between the sub-micron particles that can be held in suspension and that 20-40µ...
Yep. Not all techs are aware that both batteries must be disconnected to effect a reset. So if you get work done and they statrt having problems doing a reset, as I did a couple of years ago at my dealership, make sure they do both batteries... at the same time.
There's a lot of half truths floating around. Two lead acid batteries in parallel will equalize their states of charge quickly. After that they will recharge proportional to their Amp-Hour capacity. Neither will reach full charge before the other. Batteries recharge based on the difference...
The other day I had an experience. My truck went over a very rough washboard on the road only a few feet long. The truck shook my fillings nearly out. I immediately received several warnings such as the accident braking warning. The wrench light came on and received the service engine now. I had...
One thing you can do is find a set of strap on sound gear. I have on from some years ago. It has a receiver and you can listen to each one. Use this to pin in on the real source.
Well, the hybrid mode is driven by a motor on the front end of the transmission. There is an over-running clutch between the engine and the hybrid motor. So it is always turning whether powering/generating or not. I would not think it involved. A rumble is normally gear related. U-Joints can...
At highway speeds you are where you'd have the least background noise. That would bring out the steady, rumbling kind of noise. The comment about the transmission as the source... Well possible but then it would change with gear shifts and yours appears to not be changing except for loading. The...
Ya know... the purpose of an early changeout is to remove any manufacturing dirt and debris hanging 'round. These transmissions are hydraulic machinery. Their clearances are tight. Any fine dust getting in can throw a monkey-wrench into what's doing. Fine dust can float around for awhile until...
I posted this over on a Diagnostics posting: I've been criticized for doing transmission fluid & filter changes early. Like each 15,000 miles. Yet my view of the world is that there is a real possibility of dirt & debris finding its way into the transmission. I know Ford set a higher standard of...

Along the way, Manufacturers know what a pressurized crankcase blowout looks like. Unless they can find a reason for that in their own system, they'll presume that something was added to the truck and can then deny warranty claims.
It doesn't take long to pressurize a crankcase. So be careful if you're seeing a pressure high warning. Doesn't make sense for a properly designed catchcan system.
Other than the larger capacity of two cans vs one, I see no benefit to having two of them. I have the J&L setup (3 oz can) on my truck and in colder weather I see it fill up in about 500 miles. In summertime I see virtually zero in it.
