I have OTA's turned on. I still get OTA updates even after updating everything via FDRS. I would leave OTA turned on. For now it's the only way for the BCM to get updated, unless you take the truck to a dealer.
FDRS will allow you to update the modules. You can use FORScan to check the calibrations loaded and tell which version. But if you haven't done updates, you are still on 1.1 version that shipped with the truck.
I would say yes, I updated via FDRS and enabled the features including lane change. Everything works as described in the release notes. Updated my 22 back in May.
Best to goto the dealer have have them show you the order in the system. Not take their word for it. Ford can delete items from the order if they cannot schedule the order as built. My original 22 had a bunch of stuff deleted. But haven't really heard doing that now.
Ford will build what the dealer entered into the system. You need to go back to your dealer have them pull up the order. Did ford send you the VIN or did you sales guy give you a vin? Maybe its the wrong vin.
I think he's talking the last time around. My company was hit with tariffs on supplies from Canada and we had to raise pricies.. We've been down this road before. On thing that does not get communicated correctly is the end buyer pays the higher prices for what they are buying.
I agree about the battery. When my battery gets low, the remote start fails to work. If the SOC is high, remote start is not a problem. I keep my truck on a battery tender in the winter, but since I’m close to 3 years on the original battery. I think I will be replacing my battery this winter.
Premium care that way you don't have to worry about what's not covered. This page has a good comparison so you can see what each covers. If you needed a new APIM or screen Extracare will not cover that. For the engine, premium covers the PCM, with extracare you would have to pay for a replacement.
grab a copy of the order guide to see what's different with the trim levels. Makes it a lot easier then trying to use the build page. The platinum has an upgraded interior/materials, also comes with the massaging seats.
Truck doesn't need to be on wifi, it actually does updates using the LTE modem. My truck can be on wifi and it still pulls the updates via the LTE modem even when it's a 6.5gb APIM update.
