This and other posts affirm my decision to sell an F150 with 3500 miles on it at a significant loss a year and a half ago and switch to a Ram 1500. People have different NVH sensitivities, and I definitely lean on the sensitive side, but my F150 made me want to crawl out of my skin every time I...
Friends, I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, and this is totally unhelpful, but I went down every theory / fix rabbit hole and I’m telling you in all honesty, the only way to move on from this issue is to buy another brand truck like I did. Sadly, it was my first and last Ford and I took a...
Glad you figured it out! What a journey. You worked your a** off to continue owning this thing — Ford, are you listening?
My dealer was apathetic about it and the Ford rep completely useless.
Combine that with the Stop Safely Now no start and a few other issues, and I traded for a Ram. I’m a...
If I was paying off karmic debt, I can accept that. But Ford’s anemic customer service was enough to probably keep me away for a very long time. I had a bad Subaru experience once and they (dealer and corporate) went to the end of the earth to make it right.
At minimum, the dealer should offer to replace the battery even if it tests okay. I didn’t have another no start after that and stopped getting the System Off to Save Power messages — but I didn’t keep the truck much longer so who knows. I took a massive loss on it at 2500 miles and bought a...
I was among the first to post about this issue. After the second trip to the dealer, they replaced the 12v battery because it “tested marginal enough” and the next 1500 miles were trouble free until I traded it over other issues.
It’s hard to regain trust in a vehicle after a no start, though...
First and foremost, I needed a truck for truck things. A generator is awesome but not the reason I own a truck at the moment. I will desire that again someday, but don’t “need” it and can live without it.
Didn’t ever see myself in a Ram until I drove one… that’s the gist. $15k off MSRP on a...
The Ford rep assigned to my case wasn’t helpful at all and wasn’t at all interested in the details. Calls lasted under 2 minutes and the gist was “take it back to the dealer”. Since the dealer couldn’t replicate one of the issues, she said that there was nothing corporate could do on their end...
Agreed! It happened to me at 263 miles and I always had anxiety every time I got into it — it’s hard to regain trust. Several other issues made me decide to cut my loses and buy a different brand.
No start situations on young vehicles are exceptionally rare. I’ve owned 9 cars and driven least...
“Lose the joy driving when not in cruise”. Yup, same here. Normally I do all the driving but there were times when I pulled over and had my spouse drive so that my foot could recover.
You should see people’s faces when I say I traded a brand new truck over a vibrating gas pedal, but I did and I...
@Ford Motor Company, I just traded my three month old F150. $15k off MSRP on a RAM. It has a lot of the creature comforts that my XLT lacked, and a better ride quality and most importantly, no vibrations in the pedal that left my foot numb.
I may return to Ford one day with a future iteration...
I had similar issues until Dealer replaced battery even though it initially tested okay. Even my salesman told me that they are seeing a lot of this. He said, unofficially, he feels like 1 in 10 trucks has a premature battery failure causing electrical gremlins.
I wouldn’t mess around with this — demand a new battery. So far I haven’t had this, Deep Sleep, or the “system off to save battery” messages since they replaced mine.
My most frustrating issue has been a vibration as well although it’s concentrated in the gas pedal and pulses. They claim they can’t feel it — I don’t even know what to say about that. I can’t sit in his lap and say “there it is” every time it pulses. On longer drives it’s infuriating and makes...
Agreed! Stuff happens… and I’ve had way bigger adversity in life. It’s just unsettling when they’re avoiding or obfuscating. A jaunt around the block may or may not replicate an issue — there are tools and troves of service and analytics data at their disposal. Acting like they’ve never heard of...
@Ford Motor Company has about 2 weeks before I terminate my relationship with them. First ever Ford and I’ve only had it 3 months. I’m 41 and my spouse and I buy new cars every couple of years.
They sell millions of these things… let’s see if they care. 🤷♂️
This is an incredibly interesting theory and not one I’ve heard before in my extensive reading of issue. If for some reason you’re right and it works on mine, I’m sending you a generous gift. I’m willing to try anything right now other than “take it in” and let them reiterate that it’s all in my...
Keep us posted!
I’ve spent hours reading up on vibration issues, and it seems that very few have had a dealer fully address this without a whole lot of denial. One guy finally took his under warranty truck to a private shop and ended up measuring the pinion angles himself and basically solved...
