The dealer just replaced my original H6. 16 months and 11k old. Unfortunately they installed another H6. I showed them the build sheet calling for an H7 on Lariat and above, but they said they had to go by the vin number. Whatever. At least my approach and interior lights are working again.
The dealer just replaced my battery too. I did the quick service line and asked them to check it. It checked bad. I charged it numerous times, but my approach lights and interior lights hardly ever worked. Time will tell how long this one lasts. Just over a year old and 11k miles.
Rineland. Not sure it’s a battery issue with this update. Mine won’t go through either. I’ve had the same issues as you. Also left the charger on overnight and it still didn’t download.
If it makes any difference I changed my 08 Lariat every 7500 based on the OLM. When I traded it in the truck had 245,000 and still didn’t use any oil between changes. The only engine work I did was to replace the thermostat.
My 09 Lariat had 245,000 miles when I traded it in on my new truck. It didn’t use any oil. The only engine repairs I did was to replace a thermostat. I changed the oil based on the OLM with a synthetic blend. I think a lot of people are overthinking this. By all means do whatever works for you.
PPK: if I could get 30 days out of an H8 I would be ecstatic. I can’t get seven days out of my current H6 battery before it starts shutting stuff down.
Dafish I’m right there with you. I have always had great luck with Motorcraft batteries until now. The one in my 09 worked great for six years. I know these new trucks are vastly different, but I’ve already had the charger on this “new” battery more times than I did my 09 in 13 years! It...
Wasn’t happy the remote start didn’t work. I hadn’t driven it for a few days. I guess between that and the cold the battery was low again. Started fine from in the truck. I guess I should just go get an h8 battery and be done with it.
