Yes I did have the welded nuts. There was just a piece of tape over it. So I slid my hand under the carpet, removed the tape, then cut the carpet. Thanks, I didn’t even think to just use a short bolt. That seems way easier then cutting down the studs and figuring out a good way to secure them...
