Unless you are on a budget (which I think we can all understand) - I always lean toward quality (that I personally know about) on tires. Michelin, Bridgestone and other main stream brands seem the best for me - I've had issues with off brand tires; road noise, tires that won't balance, fast...
I suspect some of the issue is use of aluminum ... it is very difficult to get it to bend and be perfect - especially when building almost a million units a year. Not the best excuse.
I bought mine at Gosch in Escondido - now Aaron Ford - really great service department. Also, Gosch in Temecula is best anywhere in SoCal - I have a business in area so more convenient. They are a large dealer and seem to try really hard to make things right.
I just had all changed at 55K - transmission, front/rear differentials and transfer case + coolant at 50K and spark plugs will change at 60K. Expensive, but talking to the Ford fleet service guys he showed me trucks that use recommended intervals that have super expensive repairs between 70 and...
That is called Tramlining ... certain tires will grab the grooves and as you described move you back and forth ... it is disconcerting and really creates a lot of fatigue for your commute. (The Toyo's don't tramline), my wife's BMW does all the time, we have to find another option for that car...
Great comments here - I really dislike the Hankook stock tires, they are quiet and a relatively smooth ride, but are so thin that I have had two blow outs due to road debris. I had the Bridgestones on my last F150 (2021) and they were really nice - smooth ride, good fuel economy, etc. Then I...
And as it is falling apart and slowly detaching from the underside of you truck, it makes really fun noises as it drags along the pavement - even more fun when you back up and it gets caught on a bump or rock ... congratulations on your new to your truck!
I "try" to stay out of other's business ... for me I have the front plate, keep the tint legal and use my turn signals ... I prefer flying under the radar if you will. I don't drink and drive anymore (no more Friday happy hour to 10pm). As others have stated, why give a cop an easy reason to...
My family had a Scout II back in the early 70's with a 345 V8, auto, AC, etc. It was basic white with tan vinyl interior. My dad had a heavy trailer hitch installed and we towed a 19' travel trailer from Tucson up to the White mountains every summer and several times down to Mexico. The Scout...
yes, super stupid expensive - about $1700 - but I had it done via warranty three times. The thing comes apart when driving on the freeway 75+mph in a 40 + mph headwind. When the warranty won't cover it I will just take the movable part off and be done with it ... Toyota did a better job with...
That's great - my 2023 EB has 58K miles 15 months (3800 month) - dumb issues - front air dam replaced THREE times, starter motor replaced last month, rear shocks on next visit ... otherwise a pretty reliable truck. I do full syn oil at every 5K miles - I need this to be a 350K truck!
Yes on the battery - if you don't use the winch all the time the alternator should be good. I sell a very good deep cycle/starting (combo) AGM battery (thin plate for max output) that will work well, you will need to upsize to the largest that will fit in that space if you want to use just one...
The gauge is not small enough for a audio amp or other similar high draw add on ... it might have been used for something that is always on, like a video recorder (camera) or even a radar detector. As others suggested, try to get rid of as much of that junk as you can - will prevent some issues...
What is the problem? The stereo? Suggest hitting a good stereo shop in town and have them diagnose the problem. Save the receipt and see of the local dealer will credit you back for them doing the repair. Also, try another dealer ... I have switched from what I thought was a good one to one...
