  1. Another broken Axle bolt

Truck was making crazy sounds. You have all heard the story. Took it in and the axle bolt was sheared off. Dealer says a week to fix it. 2023 Powerboost max tow with 12K miles. Has anyone had this fixed permanently? Im worried this will be a regular thing. Im tempted to sorce a bolt myself and...
  2. California How crap is the factory intercooler?

Aw crap! I just realized I posted on the wrong page. Thanks you guys I'll repost!
  3. Use a 50amp cable for the 7.2kw ProPower?

I'm talking about being careful on the trailer side. Trailers are not 220v, they ar 110v. Plugging a 220v plug into a 110v adapter will burn up your fuse box on your trailer. I'm not worried about the truck at all. It's the cheaply built trailers with Chinese wire to worry about.
  4. Use the 240V outlet for standard household plug in's?

If you have any electrical knowhow you can do it how I did. Installed a backfeed interlock on my panel and made a 240V plug with the twistlock into the truck and a dryer plug on the other. Plug the dryer plug in FIRST then the twistlock into the truck. Then turn on generator mode. It will...
  5. Use a 50amp cable for the 7.2kw ProPower?

Youve gotta be really careful about this. If you find 14-30P to 6-50R adapter, which I have seen sold. Youre going to damage your RVs electrical system or start a fire. The 7200 watts is, like all 240V connections. Just two phases of 120. But because they are out of phase you are going to run...
  6. ProPower and engine running full time for RV use or any use

This is true its not the bees knees. I have the 7.2 pro power and the first caviat is that all RVs or trailers are 120V. The powerboost will only provide 3600 watts on a single phase. So you are limited there. If you have a trailer with 2 AC units you are well beyond that. Even if you have a 50A...
  7. California How crap is the factory intercooler?

I have a 23 powerboost and it likes to get a little hot towing my 10K lb trailer up grades. Nothing crazy it just moves the gauge 2 clicks. Never overheats. I have been eyeballing aftermarket intercoolers to maybe get that handled. I cant imaging Ford skimped on the intercooler with a twin turbo...
  8. 2021 F150 Powerboost "Coolant overheating" error

I can confirm this is the Hybrid system overheating. Was telling my trailer home today and down a hill was trying to see how far I could get on hybrid power and using the Regen as a sort of engine brake. Essentially riding the EV coach gauge all the way to the edge all the way down a steep...
  9. Is this just how things are now? Multiple issues with Powerboost

Per the rear clicking I have been able to figure this one out even though the dealer told me to get used to the noise because it's normal. It's the rear u bolt plates. It seems to be a cast plate right up against the leaf spring. When the frame flexes it shifts just enough to make a click...
  10. 10800 lbs to Utah a full report (towing 27' sandsport toy hauler with 3.5L PowerBoost)

I hate their tests. Pulling up the Ike when its 20 degrees outside. I know it just happened to be where they are in the world but doing that vs the grade heading out of vegas on the I-15S when its 102 is a whole different animal. With the money they make on that channel they should have a REAL...
  11. 10800 lbs to Utah a full report (towing 27' sandsport toy hauler with 3.5L PowerBoost)

Im sure it would work, but my point is the coolant has its own temp sensor. By cooling just the coolant you arent cooling down the turbo compressor, piston surfaces, valves, and all other oil cooled components. If it was a magic fix all it would have it from the factory. Sounds more like a pain...
  12. When Towing a Car Hauler with Vehicle... Help Me Better Understand!

Go to a CAT scale and pay the $13. Pull just your truck onto the scale leaving the trailer axels off the scale pad. That is your GVW. Not your GVWR, that is your max. Adjust your hitch so you're under GVWR. Should be about 10-15% of your trailer weight. Usually there is noone at the CAT scales...
  13. 10800 lbs to Utah a full report (towing 27' sandsport toy hauler with 3.5L PowerBoost)

I dont think the heat is a big problem if you are drivng within performance margins. If you want to tow the Cajon pass or Beaver junction at 70MPH with 10K lbs this is the wrong truck definetly. The 5.0 will not do it either. Im my opinion the 3.5 is a superior engine to the 5.0 all day long...
  14. 10800 lbs to Utah a full report (towing 27' sandsport toy hauler with 3.5L PowerBoost)

Unfortinatly thermodynamics get in your way. In order to have an AC unit cool anything there has to be energy generated for heat removal. Air conditioners dont cool air, they remove heat, that requires a ton of energy, and the best AC unit on the planet doesnt hold a candle to a twin turbo V6...
  15. 10800 lbs to Utah a full report (towing 27' sandsport toy hauler with 3.5L PowerBoost)

Yea moving off the mid line. Power is not an issue at all. Truck pulls strong no problem. On ramps, grades etc. No problem. Just gets hot if you're on it for too long and making a bunch of boost.
  16. Problem towing 9500 lbs with 2021 F150 Ecoboost 3.5L hybrid

Would like to see your windows sticker. I have an XLT Powerboost Max tow and I just towed 10800 lb toy hauler from Southern CA to Central Utah. No sway problems, but I did spend literally hours at the scales adjusting my load and hitch until everything was perfect.
  17. 10800 lbs to Utah a full report (towing 27' sandsport toy hauler with 3.5L PowerBoost)

So the gauge doesnt start to move intil 235. I was going up a steep grade and pinned it to see if I could get the truck hot and it definetly will get hot. I didnt want to over heat, just see where the needle would move. I dont think the temp gauge was ever a problem. My cluster doesnt show me a...
  18. 10800 lbs to Utah a full report (towing 27' sandsport toy hauler with 3.5L PowerBoost)

Hey man I'm more than happy to be wrong and learn. This is news to me and I'm thankful for that. I'll consider looking into forescan (I'm an IT contractor) stuff like that interests me. I hope what I said doesn't deter anyone from using forscan because I'm going to try it out. Second to that...
  19. 10800 lbs to Utah a full report (towing 27' sandsport toy hauler with 3.5L PowerBoost)

I highly doubt that. In my past experience they look for any little thing that could void your warranty.
  20. 10800 lbs to Utah a full report (towing 27' sandsport toy hauler with 3.5L PowerBoost)

Another update from cedar City. Mile number 380. Lots of steep grades and the truck likes to be at about 60 mph 6th gear. It was 98° in St George and I had to pull one of the grades at about 50 to keep the temps down. Overall no major issues plenty of power. Definitely happy with my purchase.
