  1. News: Ford now offering Auto Start/Stop removal option on F-150s for customers to get their trucks sooner

Just FYI I was not looking forward to the option on my Powerboost. I have driven several GM products with the option. It’s horrible. After driving my PB for about a month it’s amazing how well it works. There are times unless you focus on the Tach you have no idea when the gas engine is kicking...

Fords problem is the tens of thousands of parked trucks. They need them to go away fast.
  3. Ford is Considering Shipping Vehicles Missing Chips for Dealerships to Finish (If They Want)

It has everything to do with any plan Ford can come up with to quickly in large volumes get these parked trucks to the dealers lots with or without chips. If they decide to send the bulk of these trucks to dealers NOW and get the dealers to install the chips the next bottleneck will be...
  4. Ford is Considering Shipping Vehicles Missing Chips for Dealerships to Finish (If They Want)

Keep telling yourself that. The tail wags the dog. Why do you think non union labor is in the boneyard installing these chips?
  5. 03/15 Build Week

Slowly but surely. Mine was to the day 7 months.
  6. Ford is Considering Shipping Vehicles Missing Chips for Dealerships to Finish (If They Want)

Oh, I am with you. I don’t understand it either. The Ford VP and I have had multiple long discussions about it. It makes no sense. She only explains it this way. FORD is run by unions. Transportation is run by the union. Train in general is cheaper and overall more efficient but much slower.
  7. Boneyard F-150 Delivery Condition Report (From Sitting Without Chip For 3 Months Before Delivery)

None of my vehicles are parked outside, ever. ALL clearcoat breaks down over time. I do have a scuff in the leather dash that most likely happened jockeying it around. The struggle is should the dealer fix it. It is on the brown leather on top right in front of the driver. In you vision for...
  8. Boneyard F-150 Delivery Condition Report (From Sitting Without Chip For 3 Months Before Delivery)

Everything works great. Already have driven it 2000 miles in a little over a week. 25.6 MPG average. Powerboost. I have several 2015 F150s and a 2016 and the electronics are far superior. Very user friendly.
  9. 03/15 Build Week

I had to get the regional Ford rep involved. Our rail yard is only about 50 miles from our location and we told them we were going to pick it up and deduct the freight. It arrived 2 hours later.
  10. F-150 PowerBoost's Unique Reverse / Backup Alert Sound

I unplugged mine. Took 2 minutes. The only warning you get is at initial start up and it clears with the OK button. I run in electric a fair bit very quite.
  11. Boneyard F-150 Delivery Condition Report (From Sitting Without Chip For 3 Months Before Delivery)

I have a Lariat. Black with brown accent interior. All perfect. I am picky about auto chemicals. I have tried several and by far the best to apply and lasting is Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic. Odd thing is you put it on wet and hose it off. Then buff. Holds up amazing. I have a 38’ class A Motorhome...
  12. Ford is Considering Shipping Vehicles Missing Chips for Dealerships to Finish (If They Want)

Most all in transit times are 12-28 days. Mine was completed 6/26. Trucks take less than 1 day span. Loaded on a car 6/27 in Dearborn arrived at Jessup rail yard in Maryland on 7/13. That’s 16 days in the railroads hands. 1 hour truck trip from the rail yard to the dealer in Virginia.
  13. Ford is Considering Shipping Vehicles Missing Chips for Dealerships to Finish (If They Want)

Don’t think so. They are tired of paying storage. They may also ship newly produced but this push is for parked Ford is considering a new plan to alleviate the buildup of unfinished vehicles sitting in lots across the country as a result of the global semiconductor chip shortage. According to...
  14. Ford is Considering Shipping Vehicles Missing Chips for Dealerships to Finish (If They Want)

They ship them by rail to Virginia also. That’s what takes so long. 15-20 days on the train. A truck of vehicles to Virginia from Detroit takes 2 days.
  15. Ford is Considering Shipping Vehicles Missing Chips for Dealerships to Finish (If They Want)

They don’t go against the floor plan but the VIN has already been attached to a dealer. Unless Ford makes an unprecedented decision to reallocate these VINs to another dealer the trucks still are assigned to the ordering dealer. The trucks would all be complete in a matter of days. The fly in...
  16. Ford is Considering Shipping Vehicles Missing Chips for Dealerships to Finish (If They Want)

They are drivable without the missing chips. They unloaded them and parked them in various parking lots. I would bet the dealers willing to take the trucks and complete them would significantly reduce the number remaining to complete in the boneyard. Once a VIN is assigned a vehicle it belongs...
  17. 🧭 Track Your F-150 Order by VIN Number

I really don't think so. I think it has something to do with generation of the electronic window sticker. My truck sat built in the boneyard for over 3 months with no update at all. About every 3 days when I would check the status and sticker the date at the bottom was updated to that date.
  18. F-150 PowerBoost's Unique Reverse / Backup Alert Sound

I unplugged mine this morning. The warning just pops up at start up. Its amazing how much sound is emmitted both forward and reverse I leave at 4:45 am every morning and the quiet departure is appreciated
  19. Boneyard F-150 Delivery Condition Report (From Sitting Without Chip For 3 Months Before Delivery)

Well my 1/15 order, 3/24 build that was parked with no chips for 3 months arrived this week. I picked it up mid week and as most dealer prep guys there was a quick “armor all” wipe down. Looked it over and the t was in fair condition. Brought it home and spent the weekend wiping it down...
