  1. Leasing an F-150 Lightning

Ford offers something called "Ford Options" that is similar to a lease, but you take ownership and get the tax credit. It is basically a balloon payment loan (with low interest) for 36 or 48 months with a guaranteed buy back amount (the balloon). This is what I plan to use because it shifts the...
  2. Reservation holders for 2022 F-150 Lightning - sign in here!

Darren Palmer gave an interview today with Inside EVs that bumped those numbers 2022 - didn't give a number but 15k to 18k is wrong. 2023 - 80k to 90k
  3. Blue Cruise option - who is getting it and what trim levels will it be offered on ?

From what we have seen, all of that is available on the XLT. I don't believe you can get adaptive cruise on the Pro. That said, none of the options are final, so we have to wait for the build and price tool.
  4. Blue Cruise option - who is getting it and what trim levels will it be offered on ?

XLT trims can get all of the safety features, just not Blue cruise (as far as we know). So you still get automatic braking and lane keep assist
  5. Blue Cruise option - who is getting it and what trim levels will it be offered on ?

As far as I can tell from the pictures, the driver facing camera (needed for blue cruise) only comes with the 15.5" screen. That is what limits it to Lariat and above.
  6. Blue Cruise option - who is getting it and what trim levels will it be offered on ?

Only available on Lariat and Platinum trims. For me, the Lariat is already pushing my budget hard and I won't go there. Even if I did, it isn't worth the upcharge for me. We will be getting it on my Wife's Mach-e GT though (comes packaged with the 360 camera that we really wanted).
  7. Potential future EV credit changes [NO POLITICS]

Looks like some bad news for the extended EV tax credit today https://www.axios.com/scoop-biden-bombs-manchin-b2b4acbd-24d0-40a3-ba6f-c0509e0e0224.html
  8. Heads up....Ford's EV Chief(Darren Palmer) on Inside EVs Podcast 9/17/21 @930a

I liked that he said the 2022 numbera they mentioned (15k to 18k) were wrong. Hopefully those are low!
  9. How will Ford respond to 130,000+ reservations

Yeah - I could see the blue cruise being a sticking point. Possibly The larger screen and Sync 4a - that is shared with the Mach-e, but the 12" screen is shared with the ICE F150 (along with all of the dash trim pieces) and has a larger volume. Power running boards, massaging seats, power rear...
  10. How will Ford respond to 130,000+ reservations

Ford did say they planned to communicate with order holders on adjustments they could make to their order to speed delivery. We will have to see if they follow through.
  11. Alex On Autos F-150 Lightning Review from Ford Event

What can I say, I like cold. Anything over about 60 is just too hot. 30 is light jacket weather. Cold starts around 10 and really cold is when you are at -20 or so!
  12. How will Ford respond to 130,000+ reservations

Mach-e and Bronco have been in the 60 percent range. I suspect the Lightning might be a bit later with folks cross shopping with Rivians and Cyber truck (reservation for each, but only want 1 truck). That said, no one really knows.
  13. F-150 Lightning ordering (order bank open) not until April 2022 ?

I would bet if you were a big enough fleet customer and put enough money on the table you would get some 2022 allocations.
  14. How will Ford respond to 130,000+ reservations

My take away from the announcement (that that for what you will) is that they are trying to hit 80k in 2023. Unknown if the 15k number for 2022 is good or not at this point, but that increase should be enough to get through all reservation holders by the end of 2023 with a reasonable conversion...
  15. Alex On Autos F-150 Lightning Review from Ford Event

Yeah, unfortunately (on really cold days). The battery doesn't work as well and the heater pulls a lot of juice. Note: This depends on what you consider cold. 0F has a much bigger impact than 30F. Preconditioning can help to offset some of this (heating the battery and car while still plugged...
  16. Alex On Autos F-150 Lightning Review from Ford Event

40 percent to 50 percent reduction is what people have been seeing on the Mach-e. 100 is a 66 percent reduction, but the minimum I need for it to be a viable vehicle. I would also rather be surprised than disappointed.
  17. F-150 Lightning ordering (order bank open) not until April 2022 ?

Not at all, my dealer is still saying this fall. I think yours might have been confused with production start. Pre-production builds have already started at the factory so no way they don't open orders till then.
  18. F-150 Lightning Pre-Production Officially Begins at Ford's Rouge EV Center After 150k Reservations!

Would be nice. A price drop on the Lariat ER would push me there vs. the XLT.
  19. F-150 Lightning Pre-Production Officially Begins at Ford's Rouge EV Center After 150k Reservations!

Lariat with ER battery is also over the limit (per the survey that went around) even with no other options
