  1. How Would You Feel if Ford Pulled a Dodge and Produced Last Model Along Current Mod?

that's kinda my theory. I really think most f150s with the single leaf and bs composite spring are way undersprung both for ride quality and weight savings purposes. Adding airbags might be the single best thing to do to get a few hundred extra pounds in. I really think the typically equipped HD...
  2. shudder/grind noise/rumble strip noise

This sounds like the EIWE issue that is pretty well documented as usually happening in the cold. For some reason, Ford engineering thought the front diff needed some warming up when it's below like 35 degrees. This means the front hubs are temporarily locked for a few miles. I noticed they make...
  3. Who has the “lowest” payload?

Never have I ever seen the one true configuration. All hail the tree point tree
  4. How Would You Feel if Ford Pulled a Dodge and Produced Last Model Along Current Mod?

I get what you're saying, but I really think the poorly named maverick could be pumped up enough to fill ranger shoes. The 3k payload I kinda agree with on the F150, but I'm not sure what that would really look like. I really think the 8.8 could handle more than Ford let's on, but that soft...
  5. How Would You Feel if Ford Pulled a Dodge and Produced Last Model Along Current Mod?

Yeah but the problem is these small trucks just aren't that much cheaper, and are MUCH less capable. If anything, I would almost say nix the Ranger, keep the maverick, and throw last year's XL F150 a price cut. The ranger and maverick are almost too close to the point where updating the maverick...
  6. How Would You Feel if Ford Pulled a Dodge and Produced Last Model Along Current Mod?

I really thought the Ram Classic was stupid. I hated the last iteration of the 1500 and was blown away at the decision to keep it. That said, there's definitely a play to be made that actually makes a lot of sense. How would everyone feel if Ford continued making the XL trim trucks from the...
  7. Ford needs to bring back….

I have the center console and column shift on my 302A XLT. Tbh, I wish you could get bench and column in all trims. As for the style sides, I liked em, but would never want to live with them. They're heavier and less useful by a wide margin.
  8. 2024 Tacoma Revealed! Now With Hybrid Model 🔋

I really don't like Toyotas design language, even more than prior years. There's a lot to like about the new tundra and Tacoma, but the more recent years were much better looking even if they were pretty underwhelming. With the ranger actually making leaps along with the Frontier and Colorado...
  9. Who has the “lowest” payload?

Man some of these real low ones are spitting distance of my wife's tiny Mazda CX30 at like 950lbs. Any guesses at the payload on the new Lightnings with the supercharged coyote? I just read the added weight of the package is 430 lbs. I'll disagree that the wheel weight impacts payload, but I...
  10. Turned Down Exhaust?

Yeah exactly. I might just do it. I'm sure it can be reattached somehow if it doesn't turn out as expected. I just don't want to hear that buzzy V6, but I guess its not like I'm removing the muffler.
  11. Turned Down Exhaust?

Anyone ever cut the stock pipe so it turns down just past the axle? I saw some aftermarket flow masters done this way on AM. I kinda like the look, but wonder if that increases drone or CO in the cab? It basically takes the exhaust out of sight. Not big on the L pipe look probably because it...
  12. payload question - hauling tile?

Yeah the max payload is very conservative. I wouldn't hesitate to put that 1400lbs of tile plus some extra in.
  13. Who has the “lowest” payload?

XLT 302A, 360cam, chrome, tow mirrors, bed package, step tailgate, foldable lockable storage, FX4, 2.7 Crew cab short bed coming in at 1488lbs. I wouldn't hesitate to kiss 2k lbs, but I really think the rear springs are the weakest point. Those are the softest springs I've ever seen on a truck.
  14. Ford needs to bring back….

Lol I appreciate a transmission that isn't constantly shifting personally, but the 10sp is so much better than the 6s were. I liked how the HD came with a hotter engine typically, but what that really means is we need the lightning back. I typically hate single cab short beds and hate trucks...
  15. Ford needs to bring back….

yes. Everyone does stupid cheese graters and those were perfect.
  16. What did SOMEONE ELSE do TO YOUR F-150 today?

At first I was like not another damn thread with 1000+ posts. Then I read the first post and now I'm like "part out?" That sucks. Any idea what in total was damaged and the estimate? You thinking about going with the same bumper and all that?
  17. Viewpoints on new F150 undercoating…

Okay so I have an 04 with something applied by a linex shop. It's a hard coating and works very well, as some of it is starting to chip off finally and there's literally 0 rust. I did my 2022 in Fluid film. Also seems great. Not sure how to go about fully washing it off and reapplying, but I...
  18. Ford CEO: 2024 F-150 refresh to have 2400 fewer parts

Bottom line is releasing this statement as carelessly as has been done is bad for everyone. Semi related, looks like there's some intense re-strategizing in the Chinese and EV markets. Maybe we should look at the moves being made there to see what's next as a leading indicator. Ford appears to...
  19. Center Console Secrets?

I too have the column shifter and worksurface. I guess I'm a little confused? There's a config with the center console shifter AND the bench seat somehow? And that can be optioned with the worksurface? And for our Canadian, the foldable lockable storage option is SWEEET for throwing full size...
  20. Tesla Cyber Truck - Interior Photo

I can definitely agree. I would add that the Ford interior and layout isn't bad and does have some upsides over the Chevy, but Id agree the GM interior is objectively better.
