Yep, when the hybrid drive goes haywire the truck should be able to start and run on the 3.5l Ecoboost somehow. That was the major reason for me to move on from it.
I owned a Powerboost. Winter weather, no better mpg than a normal 3.5l Ecoboost. I bought the Powerboost with the big generator early on as a home electric back up. Then after a few months when people started to try to use it to backfeed the house and found out you pretty much need to rewire the...
Getting a Powerboost that won't start on a rollback is a pain in rear. It's a 2 person operation. One in the truck, that was me, and the wrecker operator winching the truck on. There's a release under the steering column. Anyway, good luck.
In the above post I did say mine was fine. That was...
That's an F150 plus for you for sure. It wasn't for me as I don't use cruise control of any sort on surface streets 2 or 4 lanes, just on interstates /freeways. If I lived away from a large metro area, I'd probably think differently.
The GMC doesn't have the hands on steering assist, if that's what you mean. Using regular cruise control, you are driving the truck. The steering will give a tug in the direction to maintain the lane and and vibrate the seat but that's it. Whether you are using cruise or not, the truck alerts...
I now own a GMC 1500 Denali Ultimate with Super Cruise. It's significantly more advanced and works flawlessly. Lane changing is never a surprise as it vibrates the seat bottom on the side its going to change to before anything happens. I don't miss the steering wheel vibration that Ford uses to...
This is kind of silly but I actually take a moment to watch the splash screen when I get in the truck before starting it. Found this short on YouTube. And yes, I'm still very happy with it.
All I own are black vehicles. I've lived in Michigan for 4 years now and use automatic washes in the winter. I just traded my black Platinum and the GMC dealer was amazed how nice the truck looked when it was appraised. And, this was mid-winter. In the fall, I take my Porter Cable to the truck...
Mine never bothered me sitting in the truck but apparently it was always noticed by my neighbors as they told me they can't tell when I leave the house anymore since I swapped brands.
Took me about 3 days to get used to the GMC gearshift. Now muscle memory has taken over and I don't think about it. I initially told myself I was starting the truck in "neutral" and up for reverse and back for drive. Don't even have to worry about park if you don't want. Just turn off and it...
I went 6.2l gasser. I had a Ram 2500 diesel in 2014 and it was useful when I was towing. But, I don't want to mess with DEF and smelling like a diesel mechanic after every fillup.
I followed through.... Bought the GMC Denali Ultimate last month. I really like the Google system running the infotainment system. The interior equals my old Ram Limited which I thought was better than my Platinum. This is how an exhaust system should look like. Fully integrated into the design.
More good ones than bad. I kept mine for nearly 2 years. It would have been gone sooner had there been decent inventory. I've owned at 2 dozen F-series and my 2021 F150 Platinum 4X4 Powerboost was the worst. It stranded me off and on for over 3 months with a no start condition that would fix...
Only 2 engines available in the Ultimate 6.2l gasser and 3.0l diesel. I've owned 8 diesels and I'm done with smelling like a diesel mechanic after I filled up every time. So it's the 6.2l
Nuthin' better to do ;)
I've owned over 30 F series trucks. First was a 1963 F100. A bunch of 70's and 80's then in the 90's and on I would switch from Ford to Dodge / Ram every other year. As I stated the 2021 F150 Platinum 4X4 Powerboost was one of the worst in quality. Mostly the Powerboost...
I am :)
I've probably owned more F-series trucks than you've been alive. ;) This last one was far from my favorite though. I wasn't about to get another right now with zero improvements and missing parts.
