Jiggadog, I Love it! The X4s is a newer design of the X4 with updates on how it’s built and made. I did not want the solid folding pieces that would block the rear window. Plus you don’t have the seam lines going across the back like the folding design. This makes it look like one solid piece...
Ended up changing the front diff fluid and was able to use the spicer 8.8" diff cover and lublocker gasket. (With a 6" lift)
I'm so glad I did this as the fluid appeared to be a tanish gray color (only 6k mi.) and was under filled. Not sure if water made its way in somehow or what, but the...

Looks like it does require it for the front. Below is the info out of the 2021 Service Manual.

My truck is a Rocky Ridge with a 6" lif so I have plenty of room to get to the front diff compared to normal trucks.
I know on the rear diff, with electronic locking, friction modified is not required but what about the front? Is it required in the front with the 75w85 hypoid gear oil?
I know for non-lifted trucks there is little to no room to remove the front diff cover but on lifted trucks there is plenty of room. My question is on the 2021 F-150's, is the front diff a regular 8.8"? I was going to get a spicer 8.8" rear cover and see if it would work up front.

I’ve always been a Mobil One guy for decades but tried the Valvoline Extended Performance full synthetic 5w30 and couldn’t believe how much quieter the motor became. A few times I thought maybe the auto start/stop was enabled. I still use the Motorcraft filter and change every 5k miles, but I am...
Yup my truck had the dreaded lug/drone sound when cylinder deactivation kicked on. (I have aftermarket exhaust too) I ended up getting a tuner and tune from Livernois Motorsports and they can disable cylinder deactivation and the skip shift options in the trans. The trans tune they incorporate...
No I didn't take any pics with the cover off. However, I did siphon out as much trans fluid as I could before I took the plastic pan off, didn't get the transmission shower. LOL
I do have a pic of the old pan...
Had fun working on my truck this weekend. I ended up getting a PPE transmission pan for Christmas along with a Ford Performance diff cover for my 2021 F150 5.0L Rocky Ridge K2. I used a LubeLocker gasket with the diff cover, very simple install. One detail though, if you use this or the Spicer...
I just finished installing a Ford Performance rear diff cover and got rid of the plastic transmission pan for a PPE aluminum one. Also put in a new transmission filter since the pan was off.
