  1. $12,500 tax credit possible?

Is an interview with the MIT scientific study lead who got all the predictions right in 1972 MIT study, that's why everyone, not just Guardian was interviewing her and other scientists who had science based predictions that have proven out such as Amazon rain forest becoming a carbon contributor...
  2. $12,500 tax credit possible?

Can assure you a $52k Tesla is not a "luxury product". It's expensive because it is an EV. Other than being an EV it's a stark and technically quirky product. I wanted a luxury car for $52k, it would not be a Tesla. As noted before most of the Federal tax credit went to Leafs and Volts...
  3. $12,500 tax credit possible?

That would be great but descriptions of the EV tax credit show it as an expansion of current tax credit which is called a "flat tax credit" and you must have a tax liability equal to or greater than the credit to get it. It is not "full" tax credit. Hope I'm wrong as a full tax credit that all...
  4. $12,500 tax credit possible?

More a case of data than opinion. EV's are roughly $15k more in cost and resulting sale price than equivalent ICE vehicles. They also have range issues and other early adopter aspects that have people in a wait and see attitude when we need to incentivizing people to buy them, especially US...
  5. Tesla opening Superchargers to other automakers this year.

Just Musk musings and not likely to happen for several reasons. 1. Tesla chargers have lines already, adding Bolts and eTrons would drive the Teslerati crazy. Arriving at busy charger and having to wait for Kona EV to finish charging. Could see some class action lawsuits by the Teslrati. 2...
  6. Can F150 Lightning EV carry a camper?

Great. I must have misread the wits. Those look like it will work.
  7. Can F150 Lightning EV carry a camper?

Now looking at pop top campers which are in the 1k# range. They seem focused on kitchen and bed while my main concern would be the shower and toilet. The do sell a shell version I could customize...
  8. Can F150 Lightning EV carry a camper?

I was looking at these based on the cargo capacity of the F150EV. 8 Best Truck Campers for Half-Ton Trucks How does the payload capacity affect the tow capacity? Is it subtracted? The boat is 5k#, so half the towing capacity but will deduct 500# from the payload for the tongue weight. Being...
  9. Can F150 Lightning EV carry a camper?

Was looking at a short bed camper for the F150EV but they all weight about 3k# and, if I read the specs correctly, the Maximum Payload Capacity of the Lightning is 2k#. Am I reading the specs correctly? Wanted the camper and be able to tow a 5k# boat trailer. Is that going to be doable?
  10. Who’s selling their EV, when they get the Lightning?

Selling Model 3 LR AWD to buy the F150.
  11. SunRun Require PV system with F150 Lightning

Nope. Lot of people in TX ran their homes during the ice storm using the Ford charging setup in the F150 Hybrids which is the same as the one on the F150 Lightning. To run the house all you need is manual transfer switch so you never mix utility with the truck feed and then a plug on...
  12. $12,500 tax credit possible?

Lacks range, towing, Copilot 360. The lowest that had those essential features avaialable as options was an MSRP of $56k with options above taking it to $68k. But I think the MSRP will be over OR's $50k limit unless legislatures boosts that up.
  13. $12,500 tax credit possible?

OR is $50k MSRP. It is the base MSRP so the $52k Tesla qualified. The Pro model is a corporate model and don't think it includes the long range battery with the towing and power options or some of the tech. The Lariat was the cheapest model I could configure with options I wanted.
  14. $12,500 tax credit possible?

The Lariat with options for range and towing for me is $76k so $15k off of that is a big help.
  15. $12,500 tax credit possible?

Issue we've been working on for decades, taking down the Snake River dam, getting closer are closer with bipartisan plan that hopefully both parties latch onto to show how bipartisan they are. Same with a lot of smaller dams, steady pressure on elected reps and a lot of them have come down...
  16. $12,500 tax credit possible?

Well I am an American dreamer, definitely drink the Declaration of Independence/Constitution cool aid every July 4 which, like the US founders, kind of defines the liberal enlightenment of 1700's. The more people participate in government on issues that are important to them (I lobby a lot on...
  17. Charging prices and why

The initial higher price eats up whatever cost benefit the EV might have on fuel and maintenance. Kona provides the best example of identical car with ICE vs. EV and the differential is $17k. When I was charging just with fast DC public chargers at $0.31. The cost differential for 25,000 miles...
  18. Charging prices and why

Sounds like a fairly conventional 15,000 a year based on your monthly miles. Unless you have some strict time constraints with working full time, just two weeks for winter and summer vacation where time is more critical, the extra time to charge is not that big a deal. I'm the flip side, with...
  19. $12,500 tax credit possible?

They do read it and file it as letters from actual consituents in their district are election gold to all elected officials. Shame people give up on their government and don't participate. We have had relentless attacks on US government at every level with the idea to reduce participation...
  20. $12,500 tax credit possible?

Ford, GM, Tesla and the largest public utilities in the US all lobbied for the expansion and extension of the EV subsidy. Not sure crowdfunding is useful. What would the money be used for? Writing letters to Senators opposed to the EV tax credit would be most effective especially if from...
