  1. ProPower espresso machine

I can't answer your main question, but would give a solid 5-stars to the Nanopresso! I have one I use at home (I don't have an espresso machine) and it works great, and IMHO makes a nice single-shot. But it does take a little longer to use, at least how I've been taught - you run hot water...
  2. BC Ford dealers

Thanks for sharing! Were there any issues on PST? I understand you just have to be clear to the dealer to not charge their PST, then you pay your own province's PST when its registered there. (in the event I look at AB dealers).
  3. 3.0 diesel and the PowerBoost

I hope you're right! I would just add that modern engines have grown in complexity (especially the sensor/electronics/ECU areas) that could definitely limit the less-common engines from getting parts down the road...
  4. If you had to order again would you still get the PowerBoost motor?

Sorry to hear of this experience - even hearing ONE bad story can make anyone hesitate! I'm curious - were the defects primarily sensors or were there 'mechanical' defects as well? I ask because I fear the 'sensor' defects are more likely (in these modern trucks, esp from reading other...
  5. 3.0 diesel and the PowerBoost

Its shocking the differences between gas & diesel in some spots! In BC, diesel used to be cheaper than 87. Now its about on-par with 93 (about 10-15% more than 87).
  6. 3.0 diesel and the PowerBoost

I'd fully agree on #2. As a marine engineering friend once told me "diesel is God's fuel", lol! My bigger concern with the smaller diesel engines is that mechanics' expertise will dwindle as small-vehicle diesels dwindle in number. From what I have read to-date, there's enough difference...
  7. F-150 vs. 2022 Chevrolet Silverado

I know that's the case for F150's with center consoles (5-seat), but is that also the case for 6-seat F150's? When I last checked, I didn't think the 6-seat F150's had dedicated rear vents or USB (and I remember a post on that on this forum or the other one)... but happy to be wrong on that...
  8. F-150 vs. 2022 Chevrolet Silverado

I've looked quite a bit at the 22 Silverado's as well as 22 F150's. For me, its honestly a coin-flip (should I ever decide to buy... put off my purchase plan for the time being as my current vehicles tick-along w/ grumbles). From what I've read/researched/played with options on-line: Looks: to...
  9. [Photo] Camping with induction cooktops and mini-fridge using ProPower

When we're talking upwards of ~$70k (Cdn) pre-tax for a new truck at the trim/options I'd like, heck yeah I'll be tough, lol! Don't get me wrong, I love the concept and the ProPower's capabilities. Just wish it was a cheaper option overall to make the economic decision easier. For every post...
  10. What kind of MPG mileage are you getting with your Powerboost?

That's why I'm always surprised when I hear that trucks with canopy tops DON'T get better mileage. Totally understand that they're heavier, but probably only like 200lbs (?). From what I've learned with ship design, longer solid lines = better drag resistance, but that doesn't appear to be the...
  11. [Photo] Camping with induction cooktops and mini-fridge using ProPower

Exactly. Maybe not a "penalty" from most perspectives but certainly a chunk of money more than 2.7L or 3.5L F150. ($4.5k/$2.5k respectively for JUST the powertrain). I've spent a good chunk of time trying to spec out XLT F150's with 2.7L vs Powerboost and for some reason, the PB always ends...
  12. [Photo] Camping with induction cooktops and mini-fridge using ProPower

SUPER cool! And a great reminder on why the PB (despite its price penalty) remains on my 'dream sheet', lol! I like the idea of having the second battery that charges during the day and powers everything during the night, very cool idea. Certainly, propane/fires make for 'classic' camping...
  13. F-150 Price Increases Coming April 13, 2022

Indeed it is! I've had to pause my purchase plan already...THIS does not help re-starting it! :-( When the time comes (since both of my vehicles are running, albeit a little rough), might return to looking at used trucks. Yes, I know they're expensive too. Yes, I'll have to compromise...
  14. Canada vs US build options/differences

FYSA (for my fellow Canucks): the ford.ca 'build' website APPEARS to be working again. I'll have to compare to the US site later to see if its offering all the options like it used to, but definitely more info is available than was the case a couple weeks ago.
  15. Pro Power Onboard keep turning off while driving with nothing plugged into outlets

This might be a shot in the dark, but maybe call around to any electricians or engineering firms that might use a time-domain reflectometer (TDR). They're CRAZY expensive to buy (hence you'd want to have someone else provide one) but can find a fault location to within as little as a few...
  16. F150 vs Silverado/Sierra

I've often heard the GMC/Chevy seats are uncomfortable (online and on UTube). I haven't tried a test drive yet myself. I'd like to test a 2022 (non-"Limited") model but they're still quite scarce (and I don't believe the Silverado comes with the multi-function backgate unless its a newer...
  17. 2024 Chevy Silverado EV

Yeah it’s interesting how even the big companies like Ford and GM are struggling to get EV lines up and running (trucks anyway; haven’t looked for news on cars/suv). Means the startup companies must be having an even harder time, given they almost definitely have less resources and influence for...
  18. Towing With An Electric Truck - Is It Cheaper Than Gas? Rivian R1T vs Ford F-150 PowerBoost

I can't find the UTube vids, but some folks have compared ICE vs Tesla vs other EV on a long road-trip and the 'other EV' was definitely the slowest, mostly because of the charging network. How was the network for you? Vids from >1 year ago reflected pretty poorly on the Electrify America (or...
  19. BC Ford dealers

Given the prices of an F150, I’m more than happy to venture off-island. I’ve been chatting with Prince George Ford so far, but shot-in-the-dark request to see if there are other BC dealers that are recommended? And has anyone bought from one province to bring to another? thanks!
  20. F150 vs Silverado/Sierra

thanks for the feedback and encouragement! I have noticed that even in the truck-scarce world we live in, sales people are still pretty aggressive. Just odd they seem to act less aggressive towards lowering the price, lol! One guy I chatted with was prettty keen to start ordering and...
