How true. A happy customer will usually tell 1 or 2 people...an unhappy one will tell (on average) 9 to 10 people. I was taught this while working for Nortel out of Richardson, TX in a customer facing role.
I would think that having a signed contract and him having taken fees/money, would give you grounds for a major upgrade or a lawsuit.....you choose. The salesman should have to forfeit his commission and you should get major concessions on whatever you chose.
I turned in my order and had a VIN 3 days later. I would find out who does the ordering at your dealership and talk to them directly. Ask them what the order number and VIN are. What day it was picked up by Ford..etc.
