Picking up a 2021 Lariat FX4 Sport in Lead Foot today. What's everyone experience with how easy this color is to show scratches? I'm in the woods a lot and worry its going to be easy to scratch. Thoughts?
It does seem like it will show scratches pretty easily in sun light if you're looking for them. That's why I got a ceramic coat put on really quickly and I get another coat every year that I own the truck.

Started installing the Lamin-X tint, not the easiest stuff to work with. I've only installed the piece that covers the white on the rears, but I like it so far, as it really tones down that bright white, and almost matches the leadfoot on the reflectors.

13,900 which I'm pretty happy about considering it's optioned out, but it's not a supercab. Fx4, Max Tow. Ford used to have a towing calculator so you could put your vin in and mess around with your trailer/tongue weight etc but it seems like they scrapped it.

1,646 according to the sticker, haven't gotten it on a scale.
thanks man! been looking at travel trailers and got a bit worried about payload. 1600 leaves plenty of room for what I’m looking at, though. that’s pretty good for a half ton truck

Which Ceramic Coating have you used before and were you happy it? Was it difficult to apply and does it really help to protect from scratches? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks

You bet. I traded in an old 6.0 F-250 and the salesman said the new truck might haul more than that, of course it doesn't but I'm impressed at how close it is.

Unfortunately it's a local company that makes their own and applies it. A lot of guys on here swear by Chemical Guys for diy. It makes washing easier and dirt etc come off better than without it, plus you don't have to apply as often as wax. Ceramic is not necessarily a paint protector like a clear bra is, ie protection from kicked up stones, but it does create a barrier between your paint and everything else.

Full paint correction and polish, cQuartz professional ceramin coating, XpelXRplus tint all around, a little satin black vinyl work to set off the gray, rear letter fill, and full front clip PremiumShield paint protection film.

Wheels and tires at some point when I recover from this lol.

Hey All,

Wanted to keep track of my build here and the things I have done so far. I decided to call my build "Reaper" as I like the Tremor, but don't want to pay 70K for a few extra off-road components.

Current list of Mods:

  • 5% Tint all around
  • PPF on Full Front End
  • Covercraft Dashmat
  • CQuartz ceramic coating
  • Stubby Antenna
  • Raptor Spray In Bed Liner
  • Tyger Soft Roll Up Tonneau
  • American Flag Decals
  • OCD Plug Screen Protector
  • Few Forscan Tweaks
  • Black Emblems front and rear
