What’s up Everybody!
Been lurkin this site for a while and decided to finally make an account and share!
I recently traded in my 20 XLT for the 21.
About a month ago. Purchased the 20 in July and I can say I have no regrets. The dealership I purchased both was nearest to me at Ron Dupratt in Dixon. Ian was my salesman in 20 and was assisting a gentleman who was in from Oregon to see Ian the day I dropped in to trade. Ian handed me to an excellent salesman whose name started with J. I can find his card if anyone is interested.
He helped me walked out the door in a 2021 that day. Long story short, I carried over about 8K in debt to the new truck. I’ve heard my fair share of disappointment in my decision.
I commute in a company 17 XL CC 8’ be 4 hours daily (Vacaville to Pradise). After sitting in a 21, all I could think of was how much my brand stinking new 20 looked just like my 17. The 21 is a whole different truck.
All the new features in the 14th Gen are worth it IMO. If you haven’t sat in one yet, do it!
I think my truck is from the Kansas City plant.
No rust is visible.
So far the things I can concur fit from 20->21 is
Husky Floor Mats
BuiltRight Rear Seat Bracket
Husky Bed Mat
Rough Country Neoprene Seat Covers
Ronin Stubby Antenna (listed as 20 part)
The truck was ceramic tinted all the way around at TJ’s in Fairfield. He did my 20 and it was perfect and so was my 21. I chose to go with the Air80 in the front windshield this time around and couldn’t be happier.
Price on this one blocked out for TJ’s is a family friend. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else.
Pinnacle Formula 1
15% Front Windows
5% Rear Windows and Back Glass
Air80 Front Windshield
Today I stopped by Ford in Fairfield to redeem my FordPass points that was burning a whole in my pocket. 84000 points (42K per truck) transferred into $420 of fun coupons. I wanted a hard folding bed cover. I didn’t want to go with the Ford sold REV hard folding bed cover for various reasons brought up in research. Dave, great guy, at the parts desk told me the money could only be used for parts on FordAccessories so I ended up deciding to purchase the Undercover UltraFlex from RealTruck while I was at the counter before it went out of stock again. $1060 Bye tax return!
I didn’t see much on the website that intrigued me or that I didn’t already have. My wonderful wife got me the seat covers and the bedmat and those transferred right over to the new truck. The only things that caught my eye were window deflectors and the NOCO’s.Lady drives a hummer and it dies when it sits for a few days so I thought, perfect! I went with a Ford branded swing case instead of the deflectors and also picked up a GB50 as well.
My total after tax as about $34 after points did their duty. I forgot I had the outlet on my drivers aside about an hour after leaving. Called Dave up and he said he’d change it to a passenger and have it all squared away.
Will make a post when it comes in and installed. Arrives at FF Ford Wednesday 3/17 ordered on 3/13.
Other things I’ve done to the truck:
Ford Surface Care - Ceramic Coating
Ford Surface Care - Fabric Protection
Silicone plate cover
Black rustproof screws
Troll Co DHCM Decal on rear glass
Raised Letters on tailgate
That’s that didn’t carry over: (ID LOVE TO SELL)
17-20 Grey Carhartt Fabric Dash Cover
-months old
Husky Full Rubber Rear Floor Mat
-months
I’m located in Vacaville if anyone is interested.
If anyone with a Carbonized Grey moves to tow mirrors..please sell me your mirror caps!
Leveling kit and beefier tires are the next goals. I’ll post when the UltraFlex comes in and Installed! Ships 3/21
Thank you all for reading...if you made it this far haha! ?
I’ve attached photos, invoices and my window sticker.
Let me know if you guys have any questions, Godspeed to all you guys waiting and those looking to purchase!
