Man only thing stopping me from taking the plunge into a level and 35’s like this is the MPG. I travel a lot for cycling and get about 22-23mpg doing 78mph here in Florida.
What do you average MPG wise?
I can get 20 mpg if I drive 60 mph, but let's be honest that's not realistic. I just looked and over the last 975 miles of daily driving which is probably 70% highway 30% in town I'm averaging 14.9 mpg. Now I have not calibrated my speedometer so I'm not sure how that would affect the mileage but that's what it says on the dash. So you are going to take a pretty big hit going from 22-23mpg.

Correct, I squeezed in 35/12.50R18s on a 2.5" level by going with a +18 offset. So these wheels still have 1.5 inches more poke that the factory +44 wheels.

With an offset close to zero you are going to rub pretty much everywhere; air dam, inner fender liner between the air dam and crash bars, and the crash bars themselves. That extra 3/4 inch of poke drastically increases the swing of the tire. To run a zero offset with 315/70/17s you are going to need a bigger lift, and will still have to do some trimming/cutting.

I'm glad I went the route I did with the +18 offset and the 1/2" wider wheel and 1" wider and taller tire. It still has a substantial stance that is VERY close to what the zero offset wheels on 34's looked like.

I'll post a few comparison pics.

Finally!!!

So just to confirm, with the +18 offset you didn't rub the crash bars, you just modified them because you wanted little extra clearance?

Im doing ICON's stage 5 Suspension and if I do a 17" rim with a 18 offset I should have no rubbing on crash bars or UCA’s…..?

Hey everyone,

I finally feel like I have a truck worthy of posting in the Show and Tell section! Though I can’t really call it a “build”. Just a level and wheels & tires. Still, it’s looking pretty good and I’m excited. So without further a do...

Correct. With the +18 offset no rubbing on the crash bars. I only pushed them out for extra assurance. I haven't had any issues with any rubbing on UCA's, crash bars, air damn, nothing.

Zero rubbing still with this setup. It's perfect.

Got a little snow last night so I took it for a drive while I'm impatiently waiting for SCT to ship my tuner I ordered over a month ago. Still in love with this truck almost 2 years into ownership. Can't wait to add a little power to make it feel new again!

Next mods in the foreseeable future will likely be an intercooler upgrade (still undecided on which one) and hopefully some high flow cats at some point. That should be plenty power wise. If I'm still unsatisfied potentially a gear change to liven her up a little more.

A bunch more pics because it's pretty...

Thanks man. Your Truck looks clean!!!

I finally got my Fox 2.5 Coilover remote resi’s, Icon UCA’s, rims and tires on today!

Ive only had to trim the side corners some of the air dam for any rubbing so far. Crash bars are good.

Also, I threw a drop in K&N air filter and the JB4 tune on map 2 with 91 octane and its breaking traction in second gear even with these 35’s!!!

Holy Moly that looks good! Wowza. I miss my 17’s for sure but I couldn’t make them work with the zero offset without way more work.

Been a while since I updated this thread. I have a few more things in the works so time to share.

Received my Tremor skid plate yesterday and painted it with Rustoleum Truck Bed Coating. I'm picking up my Raptor belly pan from the dealership today after work to replace the felt diaper that fell off about a year into ownership. My truck is an early Job 1 so I will have to drill holes to mount the Tremor skid plate since I don't have the correct holes in the frame. Should be a fun weekend project!

I ordered Lamin-X for the headlights & tail lights. I went with their smoked. I'm a little nervous that it'll be too dark but time will tell. If I don't like it I'll reorder a lighter tint. They should arrive next week.

Tremor skid plate & Raptor belly pan installed. I had to modify the brackets for the Tremor skid plates with my early job 1 truck but I made it work. I don't have the forward holes for the Raptor skid plate so I'm just going to grab some self tappers to secure them and call it good. It's secure with the 4 bolts currently in place but I want to use all of the mounting points. I still need to track down an FX4 skid plate to replace the final diaper between these two.

I averaged between 14-16mpg with the 34’s. Get closer to 12-14 with the 35’s. They’re heavy.
