Sound deadening project is done on the floor and back wall! Doors will have to wait for another day.

80 mil butyl covered by 315 mil closed cell foam. The two layers make a huge difference. I can hear the air conditioner and the radio over the exhaust now! At idle in normal mode, you can barely hear the engine running.

Unfortunately, the only picture I took was when it was stripped down. Glad I did it when the truck was still new. Very little cleanup required. A quick wipe down with alcohol and it was ready to go.

Nice! Not sure if you are done with your soundproofing, but I used (on my ‘14 SC Tremor) butyl, CCF, and this stuff where I could fit it. It’s thick, so it’s hard to get in doors but anywhere I could fit it, I did.

I dropped the headliner and put it against the roof, floor, firewall, rear wall, etc. It’s good stuff. Lots of van guys use it.

Limited look
So my desire has been to make this look more like a Limited, especially on the front end. I think it will turn out to be kind of like this photoshop pic.

Well, step one arrived today! I got a new Limited grille from Fairway Ford! Can’t wait to get it on!

Grille and badges!
The chrome on black front and rear badges came in today! So, I installed the Limited grille. One step closer to the look I’m going for!

Hi Grill looks great. What about those active shutters ? Do you have to hook them up to anything or do they stay open or closed. No over heating I’m clueless about these shutters? Still waiting on my truck. Thanks

The shutters are powered and automatic. When removing the grille, there are two connections you have to unplug, right in front of the hood latch.

The shutters are designed to stay open except for cold weather. Then they close so that the engine can heat up more quickly. The guys in warm weather states have been removing them completely. I can’t tell you if that triggers any kind of warning light or code because of the unplugged connections or not.

2nd mount
Added a clamp style mount for the passenger side today. I really like how solid this Bulletpoint mount is and how the phones don’t block the vents.

Went for a tri-state cruise with a sports car club today. I was the only truck there but this big ole turd kept up pretty well! This shot was when we were waiting for the ferry boat to carry us across the Ohio river.

So your grill had those active shutters to and when you swapped them out the new one just plugged right up ?

I took the shutters off the old grille and bolted them to the new grille before installing it. Yes, they just plugged back in.

Door Handle
Another step closer to that Limited look. The driver’s handle came in today. The plug for the keyless entry part was causing the handle to bind up and not function correctly. The factory handle didn’t have that so I clipped the wires and saved the plug in case I want to reattach it later. Now the handle works perfectly!

I’m still waiting for the passenger handle and the trim for lower center of the front bumper. They should be here next week.
