I have saw a few post showing bad MPG's. Wanted to share mine via road trip. North GA to south GA and back with cruise control between 70 to 75. I was not trying to get good MPG's just set it and forget it. I will say after owning a 2012 hemi for 8 years this little engine blows my mind.

Currently at 3600 miles with 23.9 average mpg's. Very impressed with the power of 2.7 and that is coming from a 6.2 F250 for the last 7 years.
Will say the 6.2 is another great Ford engine.

Man those are great numbers. I realize every truck is configured a little different and every person probably drives different. I drove my new 2.7L from Iowa to Tennessee, almost all highway miles and only got right about 22mpg. This is my first truck so maybe I'm giving it the spurs a little much by truck standards. I feel fine about 22 but that's nothing compared to what you're seeing.

I'm averaging 22.5 mixed driving. No long drives here on Oahu but for a full-size SCrew, I'm very pleased with this peppy engine.

Now that I'm at home I'm about 19 mpg lifetime. Not exactly what I was hoping for but only 1 mpg worse than my 2012 Maxima. I'm sure I'll get close to 22 for road trips or any consistent highway miles but it seems that I'll be at 19 most of the time. In both cases I'm not too far off the EPA estimates so its hard to be too bummed. Though I am jelly with some of the numbers you guys post. To give a little more context I'm in a SuperCrew Lariat 502a with FX4 package. So my config might be a little chubbier than some and the extra weight is probably why I'm down a little mpg compared to some others. Still seeing you guys post averages 4-7 mpg better is amazing.

Much of the variation could be tires. Im still rolling factory tires, but plan on getting some more agressive off road once these are done. Im sure that will take 2 to 3 mpg's away.

Crazy. What is your typical cruising speed? I imagine a lot of 55mph highway?
About 70% highway speeds and 30% city...60 mile round-trip commute to work. Cruise control sees 60 mph mostly.

Nice! Have you calculated by hand for comparison purposes?

My wife’s 2022 explorer was off by 11% on our last all highway trip. :cautious:

Have not hand calculated...with the price of gas in Nevada, figure that I can stave off depression and enjoy the fake number in the gauge cluster. :sneaky:

My wife's 2020 Explorer is reading 27 mpg's average...of course she has the 2.3 eco.
