I think you'll like the EcoBoost, it really is an impressive piece of engineering. My 2015 3.5 had 125k on it when I traded it in and the only thing I had ever done to it was a replacement throttle body (Electronic mechanism in it went, $175 part and literally 5 minutes to replace). You'll actually get better mileage on it if you're not towing (They can be hogs when towing because they actually use their power and chew through fuel to match the air supplied by those turbos).
I would say give it a test drive when it comes in, I bet you'll have a smile on your face and wonder why you ordered the V8 in the first place. Then you'll just have to figure out how to make the numbers work for the money...
