I was scrolling through my photos and videos from my time at the Ford F-150 test drive event back in October in a feeble attempt to pacify my time until OKTB is achieved.

Anyway, I found a something I wanted to share with the crew.

This is a video of a 2021 F-150 with the power tailgate option in action. It's on a Lariat PowerBoost model. Trucks that have this option gave activate the power tailgate from the key fob, latch on the tailgate itself, or from inside truck. You can also watch the tailgate on the 12" productivity screen using the camera overlooking the bed to make sure it opens and closes all the way. Enjoy!

The button you use to activate the power tailgate is by the headlight toggle knob to the left of the steering wheel. You can also see the fuel door release which is exclusive to PowerBoost models.

Sweet. Going from a 2011 to a 2021 truck life is going to be so much better

I wonder why the fuel door lock is exclusive to the PowerBoost?

Me too. Maybe something to do with the type for the hybrid tank or something. Most Ford’s fuel doors are either that “push to click open” style , or have a tab on the fuel door that can be opened from the exterior.

Earlier---I guessed that maybe it was to assure all stray electrons have situated themselves in a safe spot.......I suppose an electrical drain to prevent static.

That’s also a good educated guess. But would pressing the button on the panel really take that much longer than manually opening the door?

Hybrid refueling note:
Complete the refueling process within 20 minutes. If 20 minutes elapses, press the button on the left side of the instrument panel again.Fuel pump nozzle automatic shut off could occur if you do not press the button on the left side instrument panel.
