I got to test drive the F-150 Limited. Here's some answers from the questions gathered here.

The powerboost can take off on battery only, it just won't go like that for miles. It does assist at speed when a load occurs like going up hill.

Powerboost on takeoff uses the hybrid motion and battery pack to engage the engine and it was a very smooth transition.

Max recline seats do have the massage feature and the passanger seat can lay all the way down while driving. They did not know when they will show up for production.

The ones with the max recline are the ones that have that larger pillow at the shoulder level.

Propower for the hybrid does turn on and off as needed to charge the battery. The 30 hour estimate for the 7.2 kw generator is at full load the entire 30 hours. If you are not using full load then the time is much longer depending on consumption.

I can not beleive they had set this event up in such a congested area as Atlanta. I did drive the powerboost and did get a chance to romp on it for a short while. I wish it was more rural so I could have gotten longer burst out of it before having to slow down.

All I can say is I am very happy I ordered the powerboost! (and I own a Dodge Hell Cat too). I did not make my Ford rep very happy but I had to get some info out of this trip.

The speedo display is excellent

The 18 speaker system is way better than my 18 KR, There are 2 speakers in each headrest, one above each front seat in the roof and like 6 up front in the dash area. It had a real good sound coming from every direction.

There is a camera in the rear break light that shows the bed of the truck. It's to monitor your load if you are hauling something.

Here are some photos I took at the event.

Your making me Cry I don't have an Extra 15k or so to Order my Dream Platinum trim lol! Thanks for detailed info.

Did you get a chance to ask about suspension changes? I've got the 2 inch Ford Performance lift kit in the box and I was hoping it would bolt right onto the new 2021 Model Truck

So my guess has always been that the Powerboost was going to be focused on ACCELERATION, which is when we really burn the most gas for the shortest period of time. Starting from a dead stop being the biggest culprit in city driving.

Starting from a dead stop,. was it purely powerboost or BOTH the engine and the electric working together at the same time??

Thanks for the info, and I’m glad I decided to stick with the power boost based on the reviews I’ve seen. Who knows how long till the trucks start arriving at dealers. Didn’t realize how much I’d miss my truck when I handed it over towards the 21 I ordered. Now I can’t wait to get the new one even more

Am I the only one put off by the actual shape of the max recline seats? How the shoulder part flares out and all? Looks like someone just glued a T shaped pillow on top of a regular seat.

Any idea of the driver window controls are ALL 1 touch up and down? Really hoping Ford finally added this on, as my 03 and 2015 JETTA'S had this!

One better, I have talked to a line worker at Deadborne that puts them together. He is a bit hard to get info out of sometimes but told me the only real difference is the rear shock. There are a few additional attachments but that was it.

Sorry so slow with my follow ups but been out of town for a bit.

TheWraith
Well interrest rates are at an all time low and what is a dream truck worth to you?? Lol

mike001va
Yeah baby and they are rolling and looking good this year!

ldsavow
You were right and just pure EV on take off.

They told me there is no certain speed where the motor would kick in just battery level dependent. He did say if you do slow easy take off's it will stay battery for a fair distance before the motor kicked in. It reminds me of the other hybrids in the past that I have owned.

It of course will do both if you get on it hard and pulls some real good Gs doing that too.

The transition is very smooth and uses the hybrid part to engage the engine instead of a starter like the previous start-stop feature, that was smooth.

I don't know if it was the extra low mounted weight or the shock change or the combination but the ride was smoother than my 18. I was in a down town environment so couldn't check out any rough roads or higher speeds but got enough of the feel to know it is awesome.

Crapblaster
Not just no but He** No, Lol.

But for a vehicle over 5K lbs it is pretty amazing.

I really wish this event had been in a more rural area because if it is the extra weight and where it is located on the truck, it seemed to help the rear choppyness you can get sometimes on a rough patch of road. You know how you truck seems to ride smoother when you have a little weight in the bed, well like that. Yet it is not a up high weight that can cause the truck to lean more in a turn or curve. More refined I guess is what I'm saying, just hard for me to explain the feel.

I'm very happy I ordered the PowerBoost, they said they all fight over which one gets to drive it to their next location.

Bills
You and I are in the same boat!

I have a beast I can drive and why I let them go ahead and take it (plus the great price they offered me) but... I hate not having my truck! I feel however it will be all worth it when they start arriving.

Have not been this anxious about something for awhile. It did not help at all by getting to actually see and drive one! It did however remove any small concerns I had about what I was getting in place of it and if I had made a good decision or not.

I had not planned at all to trade trucks this year till I saw the changes they had made and that they were adding a hybrid. With the used values going up so much I figured what the heck, don't worry be happy! Lol

21PlatiDZL
I actually liked them but l'm fine with the standard ones also, They felt really nice too. It's a personal thing I guess.

21PlatiDZL
My wife's Lexus is like that too. I messed up for I did not check the rear windows to see. I was on information overload at the time for sure. There was a lot to take in, so cannot help you with that one, sorry.

Some of my take aways from this were a lot of little to medium changes/additions/redesigns that made as big a difference as some of the large changes/additions.

There are several ergonomic design changes, things moved to be within reach, like mirror controls. Heated steering wheel has a button now, no going through screens choices to get to it. Camera inside rear break light focused on the bed so you can see your load while driving. That heavy tailgate has power up feature on higher end models. Upper models head lights actually turn slightly with the steering wheel, lighting up the road better when you turn, those kind of changes are all over this truck.

I have to say I was impressed!

I hope this will help some of you with your information shortages and help you with your decisions/concerns.

Now, we wait...Lol

Please let us know what is at the Dallas event. I am going down Saturday.

For those that have been to the events. Do they log you into the system, ask you to sign up for anything marketing. Trying to do what I can to get one of those incentives!

Ford must not have one built yet bc I have searched everywhere on the internet and can not find it. I’m talking about the non-sport black only lariat interior. Which I would think would be popular.
