So it might just be me but I love a leather steering wheel and as we all know the STX does not come with one. So I purchased one from boosted grey goose and so with 30 miles on the odometer, the following magic took place!!!

Is the power for the heated wheel already behind there? That would be a cool upgrade, it was 6F this morning when i left the house...

Sooo I should have taken pictures of the backside but essentially you have to take a flat head and with the battery still connected turn the wheel 90 degrees, then you find the hole on the backside of the steering wheel, you have to push down a little metal clip that will release the airbag. I found once the first one is release if you take a non marring plastic pry tool and apply pressure it will release the second one easier. Once its releases you can then disconnect the battery and finish removing the steering wheel. Just keep in mind the bolt holding the steering wheel on is a T50 and not a metric or standard bolt so be careful.

wow...so which steering wheels is that from, to where everything is the same? I know some did the Raptor steering wheels, but assumed they changed in 2021?

Hey guys should I use a torque wrench to tighten the steering wheel bolt once I instal the new wheel or is that not needed?

I absolutely would (and did) torque it. I don't think I'd remove the steering wheel if I was unable to torque it back to proper spec.

Do you happen to remember how much did you torque it at? Is it 40ft ib?

46 ftlb. That’s the Ford spec
