2021 Tail light issue, need help.

I bought a gold certified used 2021 lariat that had some damage to the tail lights. Dealer didnt fix, and previous owner was a sales person from said dealer. They told me it was just cosmetic cracks and that the tail lights were working. The driver side turn signal doesn't work and the DRLs aren't turning on either. Water is inside the housing and is the cause of the issue I believe. My main question, does the lariat 502a tail lights have DRLs on all the time?

Yea, water in the F150 high trim taillights can cause Jekyll/Hyde electronic behavior.
That was lousy luck, but it's a nice truck!

I have 2022 XLT - 302a. I had a crack in passenger tail light and just replaced it. Fairway ford had lowest price at $350 for brand new. Received in 3 days. eBay had some used but for a new 2022 didn't want to go that route.

Yeah, the dealer is trying to say that the lights were working on the lot and they won't cover the fix. Sent me video, but only shows the brake light working, and not even fully, seems like it's just the small interior brake light. We got video of it coming off the freight truck and the DRL isn't on and the brake light isn't even fully functional.

I have a Lariat with the same lights, and there are no DRLs in the tail lights. I think you can enable that with Forscan from what I remember reading here.
Edit - Just checked and didn’t see anything about rear DRLs in the Forscan sheet.

Check fairway or other online sellers that go for vol. Other dealers wanted to charge me over $500 for the same item. I don't know about Lariats as all are led but on my assembly it was 3 separate parts. I only had to buy the large plastic housing (the most expensive piece). Blow up parts diagram allowed me to order just the one piec vs complete assembly. Again with lariat could be much more expensive.

Note as I was asking around for options, I was told the units were being stolen as resale as very easy - and only 2 bolts to remove. Easier then Catalytic converters. A bit why I stayed away from eBay.

Well now I’m second guessing myself. Thought they only came on with the headlights. I’ll double check in the morning. Haven’t noticed them on on other trucks though.

Let me know what you find out, his lights could be on in the front. Can't tell 100% from this picture though. I will try mine as well, but I am worried both might be having issues due to the cracks

From Factory the parking lamps is off until you turn the lights on or the park lamps. You can see in the above picture the park lamp is on the side mirror and headlight. Is the truck out of warranty?

The tail lights were damaged by the previous owner and from what I have been told by two different dealers, they aren't coveted under warranty due to the damage. The dealers that told me that, one is the dealership that sold me the truck, and the other is the one in my town. Also noteworthy I feel, is the previous owner was a sales person at the dealership, and the damage wasn't fixed under insurance or the dealership. Seems odd to me it wasn't fixed.

So the original dealer told you that the cracks are cosmetic but wont replace the defective lights because the cracks caused it? Can you take a video or pictures of the lights not working or even some of these cracks?

I have pictures and video of both cracks, and the one tail light only lighting up one small spot on the driver side when braking. The dealer sent me video of it leaving the lot, not great video, but I can tell it is still only lighting up one part of the brake light on the driver side. This is screen shots of it leaving their lot.
