No OTAs int he past 60 days and none in queue right now.

This man barely has 1k miles on his truck and already worried about updates? lol No OTAs in your queue. You have a 2023. You mean to tell me Ford is shipping these trucks out without the latest updates on them? You don't have full screen carplay/android auto?

Getting updates? No. Like @speedracercjr said, it can prevent them from successfully installing, but you'd have to get it sent to you first.
No Full Screen, I thought that all would be updated prior to leaving Dearborn or when they actually received at dealer? Oh well, I can wait. Not looking for issues that is for sure.

You would think so, yes. It also depends on when the truck was built in comparison to when the update was available.

It's a hard fight to get the dealership to replace it. The battery will crank the truck all day long, but the state of charge isn't enough to allow the update to safely install. If you can get a screenshot of FDRS showing your state of charge maybe that'll help convince them
It actually states on the paperwork from the previous visit the SOC before and after they charged it. I can't remember what it said. I will have to check when I get home this evening. I would say start/stop not working would be a good enough indicator for them to replace the battery, would it not?

In theory, yes. Real world results have not shown dealers to jump on this though

I don't drive frequently, I just put the truck on a tender and will leave it attached for the next few days to see if anything comes down the pipe.

Having your battery at 100% will not trigger OTA updates. It will help ensure they install successfully IF you get one sent to you.

No OTA history in the past 60 days and none in your queue at this time. Based on your Sync version you are caught up with the older updates.

I think I will try this as well before going to the dealer again. I've heard people getting replacement batteries and still having the same issues. My daily drive to work is only 8 miles each way and not many long trips on weekends so maybe it's not getting a good charge. Seems crazy to have to manually charge these new, expensive trucks though....

FYI. Updates are done OTA , unless I stand corrected, and not over WiFi . Thus the importance of SOC on the battery for the updates

Hi Rugedraw - can you confirm if the below is the best strategy?
- disable automatic updates
- wait until you get a notification that an update is downloaded and ready to install
- when you are ready to install, first put truck on charger to get SOC>80% (possibly overnight)
- once charged, put charger in "supply mode" (not charge mode)
- select update manually

If automatic updates is selected, then you have no control over the SOC when the install is done (unless you leave it on a charger for weeks at a time).

@rugedraw I noticed that every time I come out to the truck in the morning it appears wifi is off. Is that normal? Curious if that’s affecting my update failures.
It was definitely turned on yesterday.
